On October 26, the “2nd Huaxia Oncology Summit Forum” was held in Beijing. Continuing the style and spirit of its inaugural edition, this year’s summit convened renowned academicians, experts, and scholars from both China and abroad for high-level academic exchanges. Medlinker, a leading internet hospital in China, was invited to participate in the main forum. This High-Level Summit was hosted by the National Cancer Center, the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the China Cancer Foundation. It was co-organized by eight branch committees, including the Liver Tumor Branch and the Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care. Five academicians were invited to attend: Professor He Jie, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the National Cancer Center, and President of the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Professor Cheng Shujun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Liu Yunyi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Yu Jinming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Shandong Cancer Hospital; and Professor Zhan Qimin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and Vice President of Peking University. Also in attendance were renowned experts and scholars from home and abroad, including Professor Howard Bauchner, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and Senior Vice President of the American Medical Association (AMA); Professor Zhang Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; and Professor Cai Jianqiang, Vice President of the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

Relevant data indicate that the incidence of cancer in China has continued to rise in recent years. In his speech, Wang Shirui stated that cancer has the potential to become a chronic disease, with a large number of patients expected to live with the condition in the future. Healthcare professionals are deeply concerned about these patients’ future quality of life, how to improve it, and how to delay mortality. However, difficulties faced by physicians in accessing treatment information, coupled with patients’ lack of knowledge regarding disease management, often hinder progress in disease prevention and control.

In his speech, Wang Shirui outlined Medlinker’s progress in exploring patient-centered chronic disease management models from the perspectives of both physicians and patients. “Medlinker currently provides physicians with over 100 tools and offers patients more than 1,000 services. By leveraging artificial intelligence and internet-based technologies, we are building connections between physicians and patients on a specialty-by-specialty basis, enabling zero-latency bidirectional feedback. This approach structures complex information and simplifies intricate processes, thereby helping physicians better manage patient care, including follow-up visits and monitoring. It also empowers patients to engage in more scientific and healthy self-management of their conditions, accelerating recovery. Ultimately, this fosters an intelligent ecosystem for comprehensive chronic disease management, benefiting a broader population and safeguarding public health.”

As a leading internet hospital platform in China, Medlinker was established in 2014 and is among the first enterprises in the country to obtain official licenses for internet hospitals. Its mission is to create a mobile studio for every doctor. Currently, the Medlinker platform brings together more than 700,000 real-name verified doctors from across China, including over 35,000 contracted physicians. Specializing in chronic disease management has long been a hallmark of Medlinker’s internet hospital. Since 2018, it has entered the market through hepatology and continuously expanded into other specialties, now covering multiple disease areas such as liver diseases, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, orthopedics, and oncology. As China’s largest physician platform and chronic disease medical service provider, Medlinker leverages its foundation of serving the largest community of doctors in the country to promote online-offline integration and build a closed-loop healthcare ecosystem encompassing “medical care, patients, pharmaceuticals, and insurance.” It sets industry benchmarks and exemplars in areas such as physician influence, pharmaceutical company engagement, and chronic disease management underpinned by strong doctor-patient relationships.
