Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death and a major threat to human health. To raise public awareness, the World Heart Federation has designated an annual “World Heart Day,” aiming to promote knowledge about heart health globally and help the public recognize that a healthy heart is essential for life.

On September 27, 2019, the launch ceremony for the “Heart Heroes” campaign of World Heart Day 2019 was successfully held in Shanghai. Academician Ge Junbo, Chairman of the Chinese Alliance of Cardiovascular Healthcare, actively spearheaded the promotional efforts for the “Heart Heroes” theme and led the Alliance in organizing related activities. More than one hundred “Heart Heroes” were selected from healthcare professionals and patients across China. By showcasing their compassion and life-saving deeds, the campaign aimed to inspire more people to join the fight for heart health and become their own “Heart Heroes.”

The “Heart-to-Heart” iHeart Digital Health Management Program for ACS Patients Was Grandly Launched in Shanghai. The “Heart-to-Heart” program is hosted by the Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance and the Cardiovascular Health Research Institute (Suzhou Industrial Park), with support from Sanofi (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Academician Ge Junbo extended warm congratulations on the launch of the “Heart-to-Heart” program via video message. Attendees at the launch event included Professor Huo Yong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance and from Peking University First Hospital; Professor Sun Ningling from Peking University People’s Hospital; Professor Shen Li from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University; Dr. Geng Baoyu from Taixing People’s Hospital; Mr. Zeng Wenming, Executive Secretary-General of the Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance; Ms. Yan Ting, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Cardiovascular Health Alliance; Dr. Gong Mengchun, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer at Shenzhou Medical; Ms. Yin Huiqiu, Head of the Medical Department for Core Products at Sanofi (China); and Mr. Dai Wenjie, Head of the CV3 Business Unit for Core Products at Sanofi (China).

Professor Huo Yong presided over the meeting and advocated for a proactive societal response to the “Healthy China 2030” initiative, shifting the focus in cardiovascular disease (CVD) from treatment to prevention and control, and jointly enhancing CVD patients’ disease awareness and self-management. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the China Cardiovascular Health Alliance and the Suzhou Industrial Park Institute of Cardiovascular Health launched the iHeart Digital Health Management Program for Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). Piloted in the cardiology departments of 300 hospitals nationwide, the program aims to benefit more than 100,000 ACS patients by providing digital platform-based health management services and education spanning from in-hospital to out-of-hospital care. By improving patients’ disease knowledge and self-management capabilities, the program seeks to strengthen their proactive engagement in maintaining their health.

Zeng Wenming, Executive Secretary-General, and Yan Ting, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Cardiovascular Health Alliance, introduced the “Heart-to-Heart” project to the experts attending the launch ceremony. The “iHeart Digital Health Management for ACS Patients” initiative, proposed and launched by the China Cardiovascular Health Alliance, will pilot in the cardiology departments of 300 hospitals nationwide, benefiting over 100,000 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The project aims to provide digital platform-based health management services and education for ACS patients, covering both in-hospital and out-of-hospital care. By improving patients’ disease awareness and self-management capabilities, the initiative seeks to enhance their proactive health consciousness, thereby reducing the recurrence rate of cardiovascular diseases and the risk of mortality.
Regarding the technical requirements for this project, it is necessary to start fromOn the basis of maximizing user-friendliness and traceability, ensure data quality and accuracy, as well as robust data privacy protection and encryption. Future, HopeiHeart Digital Health Management Program for ACS PatientsThe highly customized patient-oriented services provided enable the establishment of an AI-assisted diagnostic and therapeutic patient management system, capable of intelligent early warning for major clinical events, achievement of key indicators, and development of intelligent treatment plans.
