HiMed International Medical Innovation Forum and Innovation Center Launch Ceremony Successfully Concluded

Recently, the “HiMed International Medical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum and Opening Ceremony of the International Innovation Center,” hosted by HiMed and co-organized by Yanxitang Medical Incubator, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Sino-Australian Technology Incubator, Sino-British Technology Incubator, and Healthcare Drinks, was grandly held in Zhangjiang, Pudong, Shanghai. The event received strong support from numerous domestic and international partners, and was jointly sponsored by OrbiMed, Yangpuwan Incubator, Huajian Medical, Topgen Life Sciences, China Medical City, HiMed Venture Capital, Aupu Biology, and Bank of Ningbo Shanghai Branch.


HiMed is a collaborative platform for medical innovation and entrepreneurship, jointly initiated by the Zhangjiang community. Over its five-year journey, it has embodied the wisdom and dedication of countless individuals. With the launch of the HiMed International Innovation Center and HiMed Accelerator, it is committed to becoming the premier destination for overseas innovation and entrepreneurship projects to rapidly establish their presence in China.

Australian Consulate-General in Shanghai Delegation Visits to Extend Congratulations


On the day of the event, Mr. Wu Jun, Deputy Director of the Zhangjiang Administration Bureau under the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee; Ms. Huang Lihong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center; Professor Gao Hengjun, Chairman of HiMed and Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Biochip Shanghai; Mr. Zhang Jie, Vice Chairman of HiMed and Partner at Angel Fund; Professor Song Chengli from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology; Mr. Rob Scott, Partner at the China-Australia Technology Incubator; and Dr. Brandon Shaw, Partner at the China-UK Technology Incubator, among other leaders and industry experts, attended the event and delivered speeches. Ms. Zhai Jingbo, Secretary-General of HiMed and Founder/General Manager of the Yanxitang Incubator, delivered a speech, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the leaders, guests, partners, and entrepreneurs who attended the inauguration ceremony of the HiMed International Medical Innovation Center. Entrepreneurs from twelve companies, representing diverse countries and specialized sectors, gathered at HiMed to showcase their commercialization achievements. Following evaluations by a panel of 12 professional judges, the “Human and Veterinary Vaccines” project from Australia was awarded first place.

In addition, the following day, HiMed, as a co-host of Slush, led the camp participants to the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Center to attend the 2019 Slush project pitch event, facilitating connections with domestic investors and corporate resources.


The roundtable discussion was moderated by Mr. Rob Scott, Partner at the China-Australia Technology Incubator. The panel featured Mr. Wu Hao, Deputy Director of Strategy and Business Development for Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific; Mr. Pan Hui, General Manager of Avide Medical, a subsidiary of Huajian Medical (HK01931); Mr. Daniel Zhou, Executive Director at OrbiMed; and Mr. Xu Jianxin, Chairman of Aupu Bio. They engaged in an in-depth exchange from the perspectives of multinational giants, domestic listed companies, major cross-border capital firms, and incubators, addressing topics such as how China’s vast healthcare market is attracting the attention of overseas technology enterprises, strategies for entering the Chinese market, and criteria for selecting partners.
