3D Medical Image Processing Service Provider
On October 22, 2019, VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) learned that Accumen had announced the acquisition of 3DR Laboratories, the largest and most authoritative 3D medical post-processing laboratory in the United States. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. This marks Accumen’s third acquisition since joining Arsenal Capital Partners in January 2019.
Accumen, founded in 2011, is a healthcare consulting and services company based in the United States. Leveraging its team of experts and healthcare technology, the company provides product and strategic solutions to hospitals, health systems, commercial laboratories, and payers. Its products and services encompass laboratory and imaging transitions, healthcare consulting, supply chain optimization, laboratory outreach, patient blood management, test utilization, anemia management, and clinical data exchange.
Accumen’s imaging team boasts decades of operational and clinical imaging experience. The company’s vision is to enable health systems to deliver integrated care by optimizing laboratories and improving health outcomes, thereby ensuring their competitive advantage in the ever-evolving healthcare industry.
3DR Laboratories was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. The company provides post-processing services for radiological imaging, generating 3D images from 2D radiological scans.
Since its inception, 3DR Laboratories has provided post-processing services to radiology departments in hundreds of hospitals and independent imaging centers, enabling them to obtain medical imaging cases within hours or even minutes. To date, 3DR Laboratories has processed over 400,000 cases and serves more than 450 active clients across the United States.
This acquisition not only expands Accumen’s clinical service offerings but also enhances the quality of its imaging transition services, improves the operational performance of radiology departments across the United States, and generates significant cost savings for patients. Meanwhile, the acquisition will help 3DR Laboratories broaden its product portfolio, acquire new customers, achieve economies of scale, and drive further growth for 3DR.
Jeff Osborne, President and Chief Executive Officer of Accumen, stated, “We are delighted to welcome 3DR Laboratories into Accumen’s Clinical Services division, which will further optimize our imaging transformation service line. 3DR’s high-quality post-processing for computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) meets the most urgent patient needs.”
Jeff Osborne added, “We are steadily expanding our product portfolio so that we can help customers optimize their performance in operations, clinical care, and data processing. We aim to assist all healthcare clients in addressing inefficiencies while reducing costs.”
David E. Ferguson, CEO and Chairman of the Board of 3DR Laboratories, stated, “The market demands further growth from us, so we need a partner. Following this acquisition, we will expand the company’s service offerings.”
