SP Industries Acquires Spanish Filler i-Dositecno to Expand Aseptic Filling Solutions Portfolio

SP was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Pennsylvania, USA. It is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced laboratory equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturing solutions, laboratory consumables and instruments, as well as specialty glassware. The company maintains production facilities in the United States and Europe. SP has a global sales and service network, providing customers with comprehensive product support, including training and technical assistance. SP’s products serve research and production needs across various end-user markets, including pharmaceuticals, scientific research, industrial, aerospace, semiconductor, and healthcare sectors. The company was acquired by Harbor Group in 2015.

i-Dositecno, based in Mataro, Spain, is a global supplier of complete aseptic filling systems for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and ophthalmic industries. The company developed its comprehensive machinery solutions 15 years ago. Currently, i-Dositecno has developed vial and syringe systems for injectable solutions, covering vial products ranging from 0.1 ml to 500 ml and syringe products ranging from 0.1 ml to 20 ml.

For ophthalmic solutions, i-Dositecno offers packaging bottles in various specifications with capacities of up to 500 mL, featuring standard screw caps for eye drop dispensing or systems such as the new Aptar filter cap.

i-Dositecno’s filling system has evolved from initial peristaltic pumps to sophisticated ceramic rotary pumps integrated with CIP/SIP systems. This aseptic filling solution is also equipped with advanced software compliant with 21 CFR Part 11, featuring track-and-trace control and IPC (In-Process Control) capabilities.
