VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) reporters on-site at the 2nd China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as the “CIIE”) reported that on November 6, the Fosun Health booth witnessed its first wave of signing peaks, covering multiple products including the da Vinci Surgical System, mobile CT stroke ambulances, BodyTom CT, CereTom CT, orthopedic surgical navigation systems, and the EOS 3D full-body digital imaging system. As of that day,Signed Letters of Intent with 22 Hospitals, spanning 14 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions including Tianjin, Jiangxi, Xi’an, Yunnan, and Chongqing.
“Internet-Famous” da Vinci Surgical Robot Draws Crowds: Experience the Fourth-Generation Xi Surgical System
Following its debut at the 2018 China International Import Expo (CIIE), Intuitive Fosun has once again taken center stage at this year’s CIIE. To date, it has signed letters of intent with 17 hospitals across 13 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, including Tianjin, Jiangxi, Xi’an, Kunming, and Chongqing. Intuitive Fosun looks forward to benefiting more patients in the future.

Intuitive Surgical’s flagship product, the da Vinci Surgical System, is the first robot-assisted laparoscopic surgical system approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It has transformed robot-assisted surgery from “science fiction” into reality.
Over the past 23 years, Intuitive Surgical has developed, manufactured, and marketed several generations of the da Vinci Surgical System. Today, the fourth-generation da Vinci Surgical System from Intuitive Surgical is widely used in surgical procedures worldwide.
The da Vinci Surgical System is distributed across 66 countries, providing technological innovation services in specialties including cardiac, thoracic, urologic, gynecologic, colorectal, pediatric, and general surgery. Every 30 seconds, a da Vinci surgeon performs a da Vinci procedure. There are more than 5,000 da Vinci Surgical Systems installed in hospitals worldwide.
To date,6 million+ surgeries, only1 million cases were performed in 2018.。102 Da Vinci Surgical Systems Installed Across 84 Hospitals in Mainland China, with 8 units installed in the Hong Kong region and a cumulative total of 120,000 surgical procedures performed.
As a revolutionary product leading the direction of minimally invasive surgery development, the da Vinci Surgical System has introduced new capabilities to the operating room and transformed the field of minimally invasive surgery. It
Scale and automatically filter out hand tremors of surgeons, converting them into more precise movements to reduce intraoperative variability. This helps hospitals and physicians deliver superior minimally invasive care, resulting in reduced intraoperative trauma, less postoperative pain, and faster recovery for patients, thereby maximizing patient benefits.

The Fourth-Generation da Vinci Xi Surgical SystemIt is specifically designed for complex multi-quadrant surgeries utilizing minimally invasive techniques. The system includes: an ergonomic surgeon console (or dual console), a patient-side cart equipped with three or four interactive robotic arms, a high-performance vision cart, and wristed instruments.
Dave Rosa, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Intuitive Surgical, stated to reporters: “New medical devices will improve the diagnostic rate for lung cancer. The global survival rate for lung cancer is approximately 18%, so considerable efforts are still required. For instance, in terms of diagnostic equipment, we aim to combine robotic and catheter-based technologies to rapidly determine whether lesions are tumorous. This combination of innovative technologies facilitates the early diagnosis of lung cancer.”
Mobile CT Stroke Ambulance Makes Debut at CIIE, Secures First Contract
The mobile CT stroke ambulance on display is China’s first mobile stroke emergency unit, assembled by introducing advanced medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and telemedicine systems from the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, and other countries.
On the 6th, the mobile CT stroke ambulance, making its debut at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), reached a procurement agreement with Xuzhou Mining Group General Hospital and completed the on-site signing.

The advent of mobile CT stroke ambulances has provided a new avenue for enhancing the treatment capacity for stroke patients, serving as a key assistant in emergency care to help patients race against time.
The mobile CT stroke ambulance showcased at this exhibition received the “Beijing New Product and New Technology Certificate” in 2018. It has currently been put into use at hospitals such as Henan Provincial People’s Hospital, Xi’an International Medical Center, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, benefiting more than 200 stroke patients.
The advent of mobile stroke units enables emergency care across three key dimensions: biochemical testing, tele-emergency services, and imaging diagnosis. By facilitating immediate imaging scans, diagnosis, and thrombolysis, these units help stroke patients beat the clock. Stroke patients can undergo blood gas analysis and CereTom CT® scanning immediately aboard a mobile CT stroke ambulance. The CT images are transmitted via remote equipment to neurologists for diagnosis, allowing thrombolytic therapy to be initiated on site.
With the widespread adoption and application of 5G technology, disease pre-diagnosis can be completed prior to hospital admission via telemedicine, enabling hospitals to prepare for treatment in advance. This makes the entire emergency care process faster, more standardized, and more scientific, further shortening the golden window for acute stroke intervention.
Chen Qiyu, Co-President of Fosun International and Chairman of Fosun Pharma, stated, “At this year’s CIIE, our medical device products—including the mobile CT stroke emergency ambulance making its debut, as well as the BodyTom CT, CereTom CT, and orthopedic surgical navigation systems—have attracted widespread attention and resulted in multiple on-site signings. We hope to leverage the CIIE platform to raise awareness of cutting-edge technologies and products in the healthcare sector, and through our efforts, enable medical technology to better enhance people’s lives and health.”
