VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that on November 6, 2019, InFuse Holdings announced the completion of its Series A financing round. Led by BroadOak Capital Partners, the specific amount raised was not disclosed. The initial funds will be used to acquire Horizon Infusions, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and to provide growth capital for InFuse’s development.

In addition, the InFuse team will be led by Tim Johnson, a partner at BroadOak and co-founder of InFuse. Harley Carroll, founder of HMC Properties, has also joined the InFuse team. With extensive experience in healthcare real estate, he has been involved in the site selection and development of over 100 MedExpress urgent care centers.

InFuse is a healthcare company based in Bethesda, Maryland, dedicated to the outpatient infusion market. Currently, demand for outpatient infusion services in the United States is growing rapidly, while high-quality infusion therapy infrastructure remains in short supply. InFuse aims to establish a network of high-quality, cost-effective infusion centers in Ohio and the Midwestern region of the United States.

InFuse operates high-quality, cost-effective outpatient infusion centers, providing patients with safe, convenient, and compassionate care through optimized workflows, inventory management, scheduling, safety protocols, staffing, customer experience, and outcomes data collection and reporting. Leveraging its dynamic infusion center model, InFuse delivers these services at a lower cost than alternative channels, significantly reducing overall healthcare expenditures for patients and clients.

Horizon, founded in 1997 by Dr. Greg Gottschlich, a renowned American immunologist, is a leading outpatient infusion center based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company’s biopharmaceutical portfolio spans multiple therapeutic areas, including immunodeficiency disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, and osteoporosis.

Dr. Gottschlich, Medical Director of Horizon and Board Member of InFuse, stated, “We are delighted to collaborate with the InFuse team to expand and upgrade Horizon’s existing facilities, broaden our regional service coverage, and deliver an enhanced patient experience.”

Bill Snider, a partner at BroadOak, added, “Although the biopharmaceutical industry has made tremendous innovative progress, the routes of administration for these therapies are often complex. InFuse addresses this challenge through its infrastructure, thereby enabling the delivery of complex biologic infusion therapies—particularly relevant given that more than half of all new drugs currently rely on injection and infusion.”
