Non-profit Health Organization Dedicated to Integrating Medical Resources
VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that on November 14, 2019, local time, Community Health Network, a nonprofit health organization headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, announced the acquisition of Fairbanks, a local addiction treatment service provider. The acquisition is expected to be completed by December 31, with financial details yet to be disclosed by both parties.
It is reported that Community Health Network’s acquisition aims to provide patients with more comprehensive addiction treatment services and enable them to receive care for severe mental illness. Meanwhile, Fairbanks patients also gain access to Community Health Network’s primary care system and online medical specialist services.
“In short, the strategic thinking behind this acquisition is to integrate two excellent organizations,” said Jason Fahrlander, Chief Operating Officer of Community Health Network. “Fairbanks has done many commendable things, and together we can expand our operational footprint and create more comprehensive healthcare services.”
“Fairbanks President and Chief Executive Officer Barbara Elliott stated, ‘Our mission has always been to inspire hope in patients and transform their lives. This merger enables us to provide a broader range of behavioral health services, further enhancing our clinical capabilities to improve patients’ lives in more meaningful ways.’”
It is understood that following the completion of this acquisition, Fairbanks will continue to operate under its existing name, with no substantial changes expected to its underlying operational assets. Community Health Network will provide employment for all Fairbanks employees.
Furthermore, this transaction represents Community Health Network’s latest initiative in behavioral healthcare. Earlier this year, the organization partnered with the Indiana University School of Social Work and the University of Indianapolis to launch a new College of Behavioral Health and a psychiatric inpatient unit.
