Lan Hongzhi, as the leader of Project Three, will guide the team members in the direction of mechanical simulation and algorithm modeling for technology and product development and industry applications.Application,Actively participate in building the "universities-research institutes-enterprises" collaborative innovation mechanism.

Led by Professor Tian Jing's team from Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, this project was successfully applied for in collaboration with Yingkou Jucheng Teaching Technology Development Co., Ltd., China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shenzhen Raysightmed Co, Ltd. It represents another breakthrough achievement for the team in the field of major projects on the intersection of simulation medicine and engineering.

The project focuses on the core technology research and development of intelligent cardiopulmonary dynamics simulation and gas exchange emulation. It revolves around four key topics: the construction of a high-fidelity physical platform for intelligent cardiopulmonary coupling dynamics, research on cardiopulmonary coupling dynamics algorithms and bionic modeling, the establishment of a high-precision multi-gas bionic closed-loop exchange and real-time monitoring system, and the simulation and validation of clinical events in an integrated coupled operation system. The aim is to overcome the "bottleneck" technologies of advanced cardiopulmonary bionic systems, construct China's independently controlled intelligent high-end simulated human equipment system, and form a complete innovation chain from core technology R&D, key component manufacturing to clinical application demonstration. Its successful implementation will effectively address the bottleneck issue where existing cardiopulmonary simulation systems cannot accurately reproduce the dynamic changes of multidimensional physiological indicators, providing robust technical support for clinical training, disease simulation, personalized intervention, and equipment testing, thereby contributing to the construction of a Healthy Greater Bay Area and a Healthy China.

The launch conference was presided over by Zhang Hongzheng, Vice President of Zhujiang Hospital, Southern Medical University. Guo Hongbo, Dean of Zhujiang Hospital, Southern Medical University; Zhao Zhen, Vice President of Southern Medical University; Yang Jun, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology; and Academician Zheng Hairong, Head of the Project Expert Group, delivered speeches successively. Yang Jia, Deputy District Chief of Liwan District Government; Yu Wen, Secretary of the Science, Industry, and Information Technology Bureau; and Liu Jianming, Chairman of Chuangjin Center, attended the meeting. Guo Hongbo, Dean and leader of the project’s undertaking unit, explained the significant importance of the project from a clinical perspective, pledging that the hospital would open up clinical resources, ensure application scenarios, deepen the integration of medicine and engineering, and provide comprehensive support for the project. Zhao Zhen, Vice President and leader of the project's leading unit, expressed gratitude on behalf of the university to the various levels of competent authorities for their trust and support, emphasizing that the school will fulfill its responsibilities as the leading unit, establish an efficient coordination mechanism, optimize resource allocation, and create a first-class innovation ecosystem. Yang Jun, Deputy Director and leader of the recommending unit, congratulated the project on its approval, affirmed its strategic value for the localization of high-end medical equipment in China, and pledged that the provincial Department of Science and Technology will continue to coordinate resources and provide supporting services. Academician Zheng Hairong, Head of the Project Expert Group, stated that the expert group will adhere to the principles of "consultation, gatekeeping, and service" to provide professional guidance at key project milestones and help promote the high-quality advancement of the project.

Project Introduction

Project leader, Professor Tian Jing from Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, provided a comprehensive introduction to the overall situation of the project. Professor Tian elaborated in detail on the project's research background and core objectives, general technical roadmap and research content, task allocation and collaboration, team strengths and work foundation, implementation plan and funding guarantee, expected outcomes and risk control. He emphasized that the project will focus on clinical needs, deepen interdisciplinary integration, fully tackle key technologies, and strive to produce hardcore results that are transferable and applicable.

After the overall introduction of the project, Academician Zheng Hairong, the leader of the project expert group, conducted a special review. He highly affirmed the strategic value and technical feasibility of the project, believing that the project focuses on the frontier of medical-engineering intersection, directly addressing the "bottleneck" problem of the localization of high-end cardiopulmonary bionic equipment in China, with a lofty vision and broad application prospects. Based on professional experience, Academician Zheng proposed key core guidance.
