Personalized Diagnosis and Treatment Service Provider for Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases
The 2019 Innovation in Cardiovascular Interventions (ICI) conference was held in Tel Aviv, Israel, from December 8 to 10. On December 9, 2019, at the joint forum of the globally renowned ICI and China Cardiovascular Innovations (CCI) conferences, AccuFFR, an innovative non-invasive functional assessment system for cardiovascular diseases developed by Hangzhou ArteryFlow Technology, stood out among numerous Chinese-Israeli projects. It received unanimous acclaim from expert panels from both Israel and China and was awarded the Best Innovation Award.

The ICI-CCI is an internationally influential forum co-established by China and Israel. This year’s forum has been further upgraded from previous editions. ICI Chairman Chaim Lotan, Academician Ge Junbo, and multiple experts from both countries participated throughout the event as judges, while numerous innovative projects from China and Israel were showcased.

Dr. Xiang Jianping, Founder of ArteryFlow Technology and Trainee of the 4th CCI Program, Delivers Report at ICI-CCI
Dr. Xiang Jianping, Founder and CEO of ArteryFlow Technology and a participant in the fourth cohort of the CCI program, provided a detailed presentation on how ArteryFlow Technology drives innovation in product development.
AccuFFR is ArteryFlow Technology’s proprietary functional solution for coronary stenosis, comprising three products tailored to distinct clinical scenarios: AccuFFRct based on coronary CTA, AccuFFRangio based on coronary angiography, and AccuFFRivus based on intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). Although the concept of FFRct is not entirely new, existing technologies are excessively time-consuming, with comparable U.S. products requiring 4–5 hours. ArteryFlow Technology has leveraged deep learning innovations to significantly enhance computational efficiency.
For instance, left ventricular reconstruction is required during the calculation of FFRct. While traditional methods take approximately 30 minutes, ArteryFlow Technology’s proprietary LV-Net deep learning neural network shortens the reconstruction process to just 28 seconds, achieving an accuracy rate of 95%. Similarly, the efficiency of coronary artery reconstruction can be significantly improved.

AccuFFRivus is a globally pioneering technology developed by ArteryFlow Technology that integrates angiography with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). This innovation enables simultaneous functional assessment of fractional flow reserve (FFR) during a single IVUS measurement, thereby eliminating the need for separate, costly consumables associated with both IVUS and FFR guidewires. In IVUS reconstruction, ArteryFlow Technology employs its proprietary deep learning IVUS-Net algorithm, which achieves an accuracy rate of 96%.

In conclusion, Dr. Xiang Jianping introduced ArteryFlow Technology, a company committed to becoming a leader in intelligent diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Headquartered in Hangzhou, ArteryFlow Technology is a tech firm that leverages medical big data, artificial intelligence, and computational simulation technologies to provide precise and personalized healthcare solutions for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions. Its core R&D team consists of PhDs and master’s graduates from world-class universities such as MIT and Imperial College London, with over a decade of research and development experience in computational simulation, deep learning, and image processing. The company offers comprehensive solutions for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, with products covering AI-based screening, detection, diagnosis, and surgical planning. Among these, its three flagship coronary functional assessment products—AccuFFRct, AccuFFRangio, and AccuFFRivus—as well as the AI-powered ECG analysis system DeepECG, have already been adopted in clinical practice.
The Seven-Case System, jointly developed by ArteryFlow Technology and its CTO partner, enables the recording and sharing of cardiac surgery cases anytime and anywhere. Leveraging the ArteryFlow Cloud Platform, ArteryFlow Technology provides precise and personalized diagnostic services for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases to hospitals, imaging centers, health checkup institutions, and patients, thereby delivering an enhanced diagnostic and therapeutic experience for both patients and clinicians.
"Our company has collaborated closely with the team led by Dr. Wang Jian’an, President of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (Zhejiang Er Yuan), achieving breakthroughs in the application of artificial intelligence in the cardiovascular field. This work was highly praised by Academician Ge Junbo at this conference."
