Internet Medical Health Platform
On December 12, the Fuzhou Municipal Health Commission (hereinafter referred to as the “Fuzhou Health Commission”) and Ping An Good Doctor Internet Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Ping An Good Doctor”) reached a cooperation agreement to jointly build the Fuzhou Regional Internet Hospital Service Platform. Li Chun, Deputy Mayor of the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government; Wang Tao, Chairman and CEO of Ping An Good Doctor; and Bai Xue, COO of Ping An Good Doctor, attended the signing ceremony. Leaders from the Fujian Provincial Health and Family Planning Supervision Institute, the General Office of the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, the Fuzhou Health Commission, the Fuzhou Medical Security Bureau, the Fuzhou Big Data Development Management Committee, and the Fuzhou Market Supervision Administration, along with heads of municipal hospitals in Fuzhou and relevant personnel from Ping An Good Doctor, were also present.
In recent years, Fuzhou City has continuously explored the deep integration of healthcare and the internet, striving to leverage emerging information technologies such as big data, mobile internet, and artificial intelligence to better meet the growing health needs of its residents. To advance “Internet+ Healthcare” services, the Fuzhou Municipal Health Commission decided to establish the “Fuzhou Regional Internet Hospital Service Platform.” On October 30, 2019, Ping An Good Doctor (Ping An Health Internet Co., Ltd.), a subsidiary of China Ping An Group, won the bid for this platform project. Upon completion, residents of Fuzhou can access follow-up consultations without leaving home or waiting in line, renew prescriptions directly online, and have medications prescribed by doctors delivered to their doorsteps. This initiative effectively improves medical efficiency, shortens the healthcare process, and enhances the overall medical experience for citizens.
The platform comprises five core modules: online diagnosis and treatment, prescription circulation, health management, data supervision, and backend administration. Leveraging the Fuzhou Medical Convenience Service Platform, “Rong Yi Tong,” as its entry point, it enables residents to link all their online and offline medical visit records simply by using their social security cards. This facilitates unified payment across multiple hospitals, allowing citizens to access high-quality, efficient medical services close to home. In effect, the social security card becomes a true “all-in-one” card: patients can complete payments for consultations at internet hospitals integrated with the platform using their social security cards, thereby ensuring that minor ailments can be managed without leaving home while serious conditions are adequately covered.
Notably, built upon the Fuzhou Health and Medical Big Data Center, this platform enables “interconnectivity and sharing” of information among hospitals, which not only improves the precision of medical care for residents but also avoids many redundant tests, thereby reducing the financial burden on patients.
Wang Tao, Chairman and CEO of PINGAN GOOD DOCTOR, stated, “Through this collaboration with Fuzhou City, PINGAN GOOD DOCTOR will fully leverage its advanced technological advantages in the internet, artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain. By combining our robust data security capabilities and extensive operational experience, we will integrate Fuzhou’s medical and health resources, expand the ecosystem encompassing hospitals, doctors, and patients, and further implement reforms in the healthcare service sector aimed at ‘alleviating difficulties in accessing medical care, tackling high medical costs, and resolving frustrations associated with seeking treatment.’”
The collaboration between the Fuzhou Municipal Health Commission and PINGAN GOOD DOCTOR to jointly establish the Fuzhou Regional Internet Hospital Service Platform will leverage PINGAN GOOD DOCTOR’s significant advantages in internet and AI technologies. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of smart healthcare in Fuzhou, create a model template for the informatization of medical infrastructure, and enhance the health and well-being of the public.
