The 2019 RSNA has concluded, but the feast it offered to radiologists worldwide remains worth savoring. If AI was the biggest highlight of last year’s RSNA, then at this year’s congress, AI appears to have integrated more seamlessly with radiology, becoming an ubiquitous part of the field.

As numerous Chinese enterprises flock to the event, what does Infervision, a representative force from China, see at RSNA?

Highlight 1: First-Ever Dedicated Exhibition Hall for AI

In 2019, RSNA dedicated a pavilion exclusively to artificial intelligence for the first time, expanding its total number of pavilions from two to three. This marked the first expansion of RSNA’s pavilion lineup in recent years.

AI’s Role in Global Radiology Is Rising, with the Integration of AI and Radiology Becoming Increasingly Evident.

If the RSNA is a grand stage for radiologists, enterprises, and institutions worldwide, then the AI Pavilion is undoubtedly the premier global stage for medical imaging AI companies. Here, competitors gather to showcase their innovations, making it immediately clear who leads and who lags behind.

Highlight 2: Patient-Centric Care, AI as a Powerful Tool

This year’s RSNA featured pink as its dominant color, infusing the entire event with warmth and compassion that brought considerable comfort to chilly Chicago. Conference Chair Dr. Valerie P. Jackson particularly emphasized that radiologists should enhance their engagement with patients and provide them with greater care.

In fact, similar calls have been made at previous RSNA annual meetings, but the most significant difference now is that radiologists have gained a powerful new tool for enhancing patient engagement: artificial intelligence.

AI can help radiologists save significant time and energy, allowing them to spend more time facing and interacting with patients. More importantly, Infervision is exploring the deeper value of AI. Infervision AI is committed to “seeing” the information and value behind imaging data, making numerous attempts in areas such as clinical assistance, treatment efficacy assessment, patient follow-up, and disease cycle management, thereby providing more effective tools and valuable information for doctor-patient interactions.

Highlight 3: China’s AI Academia Achieves New Breakthroughs, with AI Ubiquitous

Dr. Deng Yufeng, Head of Infervision’s North America Team, Shares Latest Advances in Infervision AI at the RSNA AI Theater

Chinese scholars’ contributions to the RSNA are growing day by day, particularly in AI-related research, with the number of publications continually reaching new highs.

Abstracts from Infervision and its partner hospitals were selected for oral presentations and poster sessions. Infervision AI was featured daily in the RSNA academic lecture halls and poster exhibition areas, with its presence visible throughout the venue, further demonstrating Infervision’s research capabilities.

Furthermore, Infervision shared the stage with industry giants such as GE, delivering a compelling AI Showcase presentation at the AI Theater that represented Chinese AI and captured global attention. Infervision advocates for the integration of AI into clinical practice, aiming to help physicians “see” the data value hidden behind medical images—to “see the unseen.”

Highlight 4: Global AI Talent in the Spotlight

Today, Infervision’s AI has expanded to nine countries across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, with its solutions rapidly evolving into a large-scale global AI healthcare service system.

During the conference, Dr. Eliot Siegel, Chair of the RSNA Medical Imaging Resource Center; Professor Jean Jeudy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Wayne Davidson, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Quantum Imaging, a private imaging center in Pennsylvania; Matt Dewey, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Wake Radiology UNC REX Healthcare, a private imaging center in North Carolina; and Dr. Mike Esposito, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PACSHarmony, among other experts, visited the booth to engage in in-depth discussions with Infervision.

During this year’s RSNA, attendees in Chicago were spared the heavy snow and bitter cold of the previous year. The Windy City showcased the many “possibilities” of winter—echoing this year’s conference theme, “SEE POSSIBILITIES TOGETHER.” Let us jointly witness these possibilities and look forward to the remarkable power of technology and the rapid advancements in radiology. See you next year at RSNA!
