Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with a history spanning millennia, has long been a gem of Chinese culture. In response to the national call to promote the development of TCM, many enterprises have begun to explore paths that integrate heritage with innovation.

Recently, Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology announced the establishment of Jingyi Hesheng Hospital Management Company, aiming to jointly create a “Mayo Clinic” for traditional Chinese medicine in partnership with Guoyihui.

Guoyihui is located in Beijing’s embassy district. It serves not only as a demonstration base for the International Exchange Center of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and one of the first batch of TCM service trade development units in Chaoyang District, Beijing, but also as a designated institution of the Beijing Diplomatic Service Bureau, providing high-quality traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) services to 148 foreign embassies and diplomatic envoys stationed in China. Meanwhile, Guoyihui also operates as the Second Community Health Service Center of Sanlitun, Chaoyang District, Beijing.

Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology is currently a highly influential online platform for TCM heritage education and academic live streaming. Built on internet technology, the platform has been dedicated to the dissemination, inheritance, and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), traditional culture, and TCM academia, boasting extensive expert resources.

Both parties are collaborating to transform the “Jingyi Hesheng – Guoyi Hui” outpatient clinic into China’s first diplomatic service window for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and a platform for TCM heritage education, aiming to become the “Mayo Clinic” of TCM.

It is reported that since its establishment in 2015, Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology has hosted online lectures by nearly 3,000 National Medical Masters, renowned senior TCM practitioners, and clinical experts. To date, the company has trained approximately 800,000 TCM-related professionals through both online and offline channels.

He Jian, CEO of Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology, stated, “The essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) education lies in the delivery of solutions, not merely in running training courses. National TCM Masters, renowned veteran TCM practitioners, and clinical experts leverage the internet to distill their decades of accumulated experience and solutions into discrete TCM theoretical methods, thereby facilitating learning for TCM professionals and promoting the inheritance of TCM culture. In fact, while TCM may appear mysterious and complex, it embodies a rigorous underlying logic.”

In He Jian’s view, a solution is a replicable methodology. This replicability is reflected in two aspects. First, the same set of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) methodological theories (rather than a single fixed prescription) can be applied to treat multiple patients with their respective conditions. Second, National Medical Masters, renowned veteran TCM practitioners, and clinical experts can pass down their TCM methodological theories to the new generation of doctors, who are then equally capable of effectively treating patients. “A solution that clearly exhibits these two characteristics is considered replicable.”

Taking diabetes, which has shown the most significant results, as an example. Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology has been tracking and studying Dr. Hu Tianbao’s TCM-based solution for diabetes since December 2017. If patients strictly adhere to medical advice regarding medication and diet, after five months of taking traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), most patients can reduce their dosage of Western medicine under stress testing, and some patients can even discontinue both TCM and Western medicine. Currently, Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology is conducting clinical data registration and organizing patient follow-up records.

“Effective diabetes solutions are a tremendous encouragement to us. It is undeniable that certain Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approaches possess the capacity to generate both commercial and social value, from which TCM’s confidence stems. Through our collaboration with Guoyihui, Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology aims to share this confidence with the world,” said He Jian with confidence.

As previously reported by VCBeat, Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology obtained an internet hospital license this August, becoming the first internet hospital with TCM characteristics in Hainan to operate nationwide. Ma Wei, President of Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology, stated, “After establishing the internet hospital platform, major hospitals and small clinics that were previously our educational partners have joined in succession. Beijing Universe In Nutshell Technology aims to replicate the ‘Jingyi Hesheng – Guoyi Hui’ clinic model across China through both online and offline channels, creating a closed-loop supply and demand system where 3,000 excellent TCM practitioners—empowered and trained by National TCM Masters, renowned senior TCM doctors, and clinical experts—provide high-quality TCM services to the public.”
