【Pharmaceutical Network Industry DynamicsSince January 2026, to accelerate R&D and commercialization, share risks, and seize the first-mover advantage, several pharmaceutical companies have announced extended or deepened collaborations, primarily focusing on full-chain CRDMO integration, market expansion, and sales.

Recently, Syngene International announced the extension of its long-term strategic partnership with Bristol-Myers Squibb until 2035. The expanded agreement broadens the integrated service scope to encompass the entire lifecycle of drug development, including drug discovery (chemistry, biology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics), translational sciences, drug development and manufacturing, clinical trials, data and information technology services.

It is reported that the two companies have been cooperating for over 25 years. This expansion of cooperation marks a new stage of development for both parties, further solidifying Syngene's position as a strategic partner. It will support BMS in advancing its next phase of research, development, and production plans, while bringing hope to patients worldwide who are awaiting new therapies.

On January 16, Kelun Botai Biotech announced that the 2023 R&D-related Drugs and Consumables Framework Agreement had expired on December 31, 2025. In light of the above situation, it has renewed the 2026 R&D-related Materials Framework Agreement with China Resources Kelun, effective from January 16, 2026, to December 31, 2028.

This extension of the partnership is expected to help Kelun Biotech make more effective use of China Resources Kelun's distribution network, enhancing market recognition and reputation of the products, thereby driving further revenue growth.

On January 15, AstraZeneca and Yaoyigou, a pharmaceutical industry internet platform, successfully held a business negotiation meeting. The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on the 2026 cooperation goals and planned to deepen collaboration in multiple areas such as BC-end integration, market expansion, and full-channel digital intelligence empowerment.

This negotiation also focused on the construction of full-chain drug traceability, standardization of terminal scanning codes, and medication safety, laying the foundation for subsequent deepened cooperation and industry compliance development. The two parties have been collaborating for many years and established a strategic partnership in 2023 to jointly explore the new retail model in the pharmaceuticals sector and commit to building a medical and health ecosystem for county-level healthcare communities. In the future, both parties will continue to uphold the concept of open collaboration, co-build an industrial ecosystem with shared resources and complementary capabilities, and provide Chinese patients with higher-quality and more accessible healthcare services.

On January 5, Earendil Labs (a subsidiary of Huashen Zhiyao) announced that it had once again reached a strategic partnership with Sanofi. According to the cooperation agreement, Earendil's drug discovery platform will be applied to multiple research and development projects for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and Sanofi will lead the development and global commercialization of the bispecific antibody candidate drugs generated from the collaboration.

It is reported that Earendil Labs is an AI-driven biotech company focusing on the research and development of next-generation innovative biologics for treating autoimmune diseases, cancer, and other unmet medical needs. In April 2025, Earendil Labs reached a collaboration with Sanofi, which paid $125 million upfront to co-develop two bispecific antibody drugs targeting autoimmune diseases and inflammatory bowel disease: α4β7/TL1A and TL1A/IL23.

Overall, extended collaborations can hedge against risks such as clinical failures, supply chain fluctuations, and policy changes. Especially in the context of the long R&D cycles and high investments in innovative drugs, long-term partnerships are expected to become a key strategy for pharmaceutical companies to achieve "steady growth."
