Intelligent Rehabilitation Equipment R&D and Manufacturer
At the beginning of 2026, the brain-computer interface industry in China remains prosperous.
First, Elon Musk shouted about the mass production of brain-computer interface devices, causing the stock prices of related companies in China's secondary market to soar. Then, a well-known company secured a massive 2 billion yuan financing and launched its IPO... While the capital market is bustling with activity, enterprises continue to push forward with product innovation exploration and practical applications.
For example, Sunnyou, a leading enterprise in China's intelligent rehabilitation industry, has not only gained consecutive approvals for two brain-computer interface (BCI) products, but also announced the release of 27 new products by 2025. Additionally, collaborations on BCI projects with various universities have been frequently reported — including the BCI Rehabilitation Treatment Center co-built with Jingzhou Central Hospital, the BCI Clinical Research and Transformation Center established with Nantong First People’s Hospital, and the Brain Science and BCI Innovation Transformation Center created in partnership with Xiangyang First People’s Hospital, all of which were either established or inaugurated one after another. According to incomplete statistics, within just November 2025, Sunnyou’s official WeChat account showcased eight BCI-related hospital-enterprise cooperation projects, while the actual number of collaboration projects far exceeds this.
Along with the increasing number of hospital collaborations, Sunnyou Medical's portfolio of brain-computer interface (BCI) innovative products and its ambition to lead the development of China's BCI rehabilitation industry are also growing. During a recent investor relations event, Sunnyou Medical stated that its BCI products have now been implemented in over 600 tertiary Class A hospitals, receiving positive feedback. By 2026, Sunnyou Medical plans to launch nearly 100 BCI products, covering more than 1,000 tertiary Class A hospitals.
So, what is the confidence of Sunnyou Medical, and what is its product layout and future planning in the brain-computer interface field? Taking advantage of the convening of the 8th "Belt and Road" Central China Rehabilitation Medicine Forum and the 10th Rehabilitation Equipment Expo, VCBeat gained a detailed understanding of Sunnyou Medical's industry insights, product layout, and business planning in the brain-computer rehabilitation sector.
This conference, jointly hosted by the Anyang City Biomedical and High-End Medical Equipment Industry Chain Cluster, Hubei Provincial Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Hunan Provincial Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Shanxi Provincial Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, attracted nearly 3,000 rehabilitation medicine experts, academician scholars, enterprise representatives, and investment institution professionals. The exploration of opportunities in brain-computer interface and rehabilitation healthcare industries was one of the key focuses.

14 New Brain-Computer Rehabilitation Products Debut, Covering Various Rehabilitation Scenarios
Sunnyou's systematic exploration of brain-computer interfaces stems from the construction of the five major systems of the Sun-BCI Lab.

Among them, Sun BME focuses on exploring the mysteries of the brain and overcoming brain diseases, providing a theoretical foundation and clinical evidence platform for the development of brain-computer interface technology; Sun Brain is dedicated to the practical application of brain-computer interface rehabilitation technology, mainly covering areas such as brain-controlled physical factor therapy, motor rehabilitation, cognitive speech rehabilitation, and mental health rehabilitation; Sun Link specializes in the research and development of brain-computer interface acquisition devices, brain-computer interface chips, and brain-computer interface acquisition electrodes; Sun Dip primarily handles the development of brain-computer interface algorithms, and has currently created various innovative algorithms such as the TianShu Algorithm, TianJi Algorithm, TianJun Algorithm, and YaoGuang Algorithm; Sun Live focuses on the exploration and application of brain-computer interface scenarios, such as home-based scenarios, education, and entertainment scenarios.
It is not difficult to see that from theoretical basic research to hardware algorithm development, and then to the exploration of landing transformation and application scenario expansion, Sunnyou Medical had already made a big move at the beginning of its exploration into brain-computer interface — focusing not only on the entire chain of brain-computer interface technology transformation, but also on the layout of the whole industry chain of collection, analysis, and application, achieving product innovation on the basis of self-developed hardware and algorithms.
Relevant reports have pointed out that in the field of brain-computer interface, Sunnyou mainly focuses on non-invasive technologies, concentrating on directions such as mental psychology, motor imagery, and active training. It has built a full product system including EEG acquisition devices, brain-controlled products, life-scenario products, self-developed algorithms, and brain biomedical research.
At the 10th Rehabilitation Equipment Expo, Sunnyou Medical unveiled 14 innovative Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) products, including the BCI-based Upper and Lower Limb Active-Passive Rehabilitation Training Device, BCI-based Hand Function Rehabilitation Training Device, BCI-based Dynamic Weight-Supported Medical Rehabilitation Training Device, and BCI-based Swallowing Nerve and Muscle Electrical Stimulation Device, covering multiple rehabilitation scenarios such as motor and occupational therapy training.

Among them, Sunnyou's brain-computer interface-based upper and lower limb active-passive rehabilitation training device can analyze motion intentions at the millisecond level, synchronously construct a "central-peripheral-central" closed-loop feedback, and adaptively match rehabilitation stages through AI, thereby achieving full-cycle coverage from acute intervention to long-term functional remodeling. The brain-computer interface-based swallowing nerve and muscle electrical stimulation device not only solves the problem of traditional NMES stimulation timing being out of sync with the patient’s swallowing intention but also enhances neuroplasticity, promotes functional reconstruction, and strengthens the patient's willingness to actively participate.
As a leading enterprise in rehabilitation medical devices, Sunnyou has become one of the companies with the most extensive application scenarios for the commercialization of brain-computer interface technology in China. To date, Sunnyou has received approval for two brain-computer interface related products. In the future, the innovative research and development of brain-computer interface + intelligent rehabilitation products will continue to be a key focus for Sunnyou's development.
High-intensity R&D investment is an important foundation for supporting technological breakthroughs. By 2025, Sunnyou Medical's R&D investment as a proportion of its revenue is expected to exceed 26%, with approximately 60% allocated to innovative fields related to brain-computer interfaces to accelerate the development of key core technologies.
Application Scenarios Expand Rapidly, Home-based Elderly Care / Big Health Becomes the Future Focus
As the development of brain-computer interface + intelligent rehabilitation products is in full swing, the expansion of application scenarios has also accelerated.
Sunnyou Medical Chairman He Yongzheng introduced that the home-based large health scenario will be Sunnyou Medical's next key focus. The reason behind this decision is the strong market demand in out-of-hospital scenarios.
Against this backdrop, with years of research and innovation, manufacturing accumulation, and experience in the brain-computer interface + intelligent rehabilitation equipment field, Sunnyou has quickly taken action to make a strong push into the home-based elderly care and broader health product markets. For example, in terms of (home-based) elderly care, Sunnyou has not only launched wellness products such as sound wave vibration, hydrotherapy massage, pelvic floor magnetic therapy, micro hyperbaric oxygen chambers, and negative ion devices, but also introduced cognitive impairment screening and assessment products, as well as disabled care robots targeted at the disabled and dementia populations. In the broader health sector, Sunnyou has released products like microcurrent therapy devices, stress-relief meditation headbands, and focus training equipment, mainly sold through online e-commerce platforms.
Sunnyou's Layout in Home-based Elderly Care and Health Products Is Far from Being a Castle in the Air. On the contrary, Sunnyou's over two decades of experience in the research, development, and manufacturing of rehabilitation medical equipment, along with its comprehensive coverage of rehabilitation scenarios, will empower it to more accurately and efficiently enter non-hospital settings and bring users truly practical health products.
In addition, He Yongzheng also stated that multimodal and multi-paradigm will be the current and future development direction of Sunnyou's brain-computer interface products. Among them, multimodal refers to physiological signals such as EEG and EMG signals; multi-paradigm mainly includes various signal induction methods such as visual evoked, motor imagery, motor attempt, and eye movement.
At the same time, He Yongzheng emphasized that in real application scenarios, there should not be a "diode" mindset where one paradigm is considered superior and another inferior. Instead, attention should be focused on which paradigm(s) better align with patients' rehabilitation needs. What Sunnyou Medical aims to do is provide patients with rehabilitation paradigms that are both suitable for their needs and effective. This is consistent with Sunnyou Medical's underlying logic as a "comprehensive solution provider for rehabilitation scenarios rather than a single product supplier."
In the future, how will Sunnyou Medical lead the development of the intelligent rehabilitation equipment industry, and what surprises will it bring to the out-of-hospital home care/healthcare market? We will wait and see!
