SeismiqBy generating laser acoustic pressure waves within the balloon catheter, it can break up both superficial and deep calcified plaques in the arterial vessel wall while protecting the surrounding soft tissue.

Boston Scientific regards Seismiq as a new generation of IVL system. All emission stations on its balloon can provide stable acoustic output and real-time feedback on treatment effects, without the need for sterile bag encapsulation of the handle.

Progress of Other IVL Competitors

Current potential competitors developing IVL products include Abbott, Philips, as well as FastWave and Amplitude Vascular Systems, among others.

Acquired by Abbott in 2023Cardiovascular SystemsThe IVL product under development will be obtained at that time, and the TECTONIC CAD IVL pivotal study will be initiated in 2025. Amplitude Vascular Systems' Pulse IVL is currently conducting the POWER PAD 2 study, with 120 patients enrolled across 20 clinical centers. The study is expected to be completed in March 2026.
