As of 11:00 a.m. Beijing Time on March 17, more than 100,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been reported in over 150 countries and regions outside China. The global epidemic situation continues to escalate, and the health and safety of our compatriots abroad remain a constant concern for the people back home.
On March 17, JD Health announced the launch of its “Global Free Health Consultation Platform,” providing free online medical consultations and psychological counseling services to the 60 million Chinese citizens residing overseas. For this initiative, JD Health specially assembled a team of 38 experts and physicians who had gained extensive experience aiding Hubei Province during China’s domestic epidemic response, forming the “Frontline Epidemic-Fighting Renowned Physicians Team” to extend professional online consultation and diagnostic services worldwide.

Dr. Yin Jinwei, a physician at Wuxi Xishan People’s Hospital and a JD Health doctor, is a member of JD Health’s “Frontline Anti-Epidemic Expert Medical Team.” As a member of Jiangsu Province’s fifth batch of medical personnel aiding Hubei, Dr. Yin has been providing support in Wuhan for over a month. During his frontline service, whenever he had spare time, he would use his mobile phone to consult with users and patients on the JD Health online consultation platform. Upon receiving the call for doctors to join JD Health’s newly launched overseas online consultation service, Dr. Yin immediately signed up to serve.
“As long as the pandemic persists, healthcare workers will not retreat! The safety and lives of patients always come first!” said Dr. Yin. “We picked up our phones immediately after removing our protective suits, hoping to provide overseas compatriots with firsthand experience in fighting the epidemic and offer them the medical advice they truly need at this stage.”

JD Health’s “Global Free Health Consultation Platform” has assembled a team of over 300 physicians spanning all clinical departments, including Infectious Diseases and Respiratory Medicine. This initiative features a dedicated “TCM Anti-Epidemic Zone” staffed by more than 30 traditional Chinese medicine experts, comprehensively addressing the consultation and diagnostic needs of overseas Chinese nationals.
In addition to Chinese citizens, JD Health has simultaneously launched a bilingual service zone, recognizing that international friends facing the pandemic also require assistance from China. Currently, more than 20 doctors with English consultation capabilities are available to provide online English medical consultations via text and image communication. Meanwhile, a fully English-language interface will be launched in the near future.
For compatriots experiencing tension, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive symptoms during the pandemic, free psychological counseling services are available by calling the hotline at 400-622-6108.
At the outset of the outbreak, JD Health promptly launched the “Prevention and Containment of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia” platform, providing users across China with free online consultations for COVID-19-related symptoms and psychological counseling services. It later expanded the scope of free consultations to cover all diseases across all medical specialties. This initiative not only alleviated pressure on frontline medical institutions but also ensured that a large number of users could access professional consultation services safely and conveniently. From January 26 to March 16, JD Health’s online consultation platform served over 5 million domestic users, with an average daily consultation volume exceeding 120,000. The recent launch of the “Global Free Health Consultation Platform” extends the reach of free consultations to overseas users, contributing to the global fight against the pandemic.
“For over two months, our overseas compatriots have kept the homeland close to their hearts, donating funds and supplies to support China’s fight against the epidemic. Now, as the pandemic spreads across the globe, our loved ones abroad are facing unprecedented challenges, and we deeply empathize with their plight,” said Xin Lijun, CEO of JD Health. “In the ongoing global efforts to combat the pandemic, JD Health will continue to adapt to emerging developments and needs by constantly enhancing its products and services. We stand in solidarity with 60 million overseas Chinese and people worldwide, working together to overcome these difficult times and building a robust online defense line against the epidemic for them.”
