Home Health Care Service Provider
Cera, founded in 2016 and headquartered in London, UK, has designed a professional home care service and an accompanying digital platform. Leveraging matching algorithms and an automated scheduling system, it arranges home care within 24 hours based on patients’ needs and preferences.
Compared with traditional healthcare providers, Cera’s digital platform incurs lower administrative costs, enabling it to offer affordable prices for both public and private healthcare services while still covering expenses such as above-industry-average wages. This allows Cera to recruit care professionals who are experienced, competent, well-trained, and capable of delivering high-quality medical care.
Cera conducted its seed funding rounds in November 2016, and April, July, and August 2017, raising a total of £3.2 million. It completed its Series A financing in May 2018 and undertook venture capital financing in February 2020. Across six funding rounds, it raised a total of £90.8 million. Cera is backed by 22 investors, with Kairos and Yabeo Capital being the most recent.

Cera primarily offers five major care services.
Cera is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. The CQC conducts regular inspections to ensure that care providers operate in strict accordance with standards for safe, reliable, high-quality care, effective leadership, and well-led services. Benefits of choosing CQC-regulated elderly care from Cera include maintaining high standards of safe, quality care through regular inspections and staff training, thereby ensuring that your loved ones receive excellent care. Users can file complaints or submit commendations regarding the quality of care received from Cera via the CQC registry, helping to uphold the desired standards of care.
Hospice care primarily serves patients with progressive diseases. Cera’s caregivers help provide in-home support, including medication management, companionship, home care, personal and hygiene care, and professional nursing.
For individuals who need to step out briefly for work or other commitments and are unable to care for patients at home, Cera provides temporary caregiving services to ensure patients receive comprehensive care during this period. This service alleviates the concerns of traveling professionals, enabling them to balance family responsibilities and work seamlessly.
Dementia care services are available to individuals with any form of dementia, regardless of whether they are in the early stages or have been living with the condition for many years. Cera’s in-home dementia care is delivered by specially trained caregivers and is personalized to address all dementia-related challenges. Cera recognizes that a consistent daily routine and a familiar environment are critical factors influencing the well-being of people with dementia, thereby ensuring that patients can remain safe and secure in their own homes.
Under normal circumstances, patients still require long-term rehabilitative care after discharge. Cera not only provides personal care services for such patients but also offers domestic support services to ensure their daily living needs are met, such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
Cera’s philosophy is to treat every employee as part of the family. By combining the power of technology with a unique collaborative approach, Cera provides affordable, comprehensive care that enables people to live better lives in the places they most wish to call home.
The community represents the smallest radius of an individual’s daily life. Cera delivers comprehensive care services on a community basis, precisely and promptly meeting patients’ care needs. Cera works closely with healthcare professionals within the community, such as general practitioners, nurses, and social workers, integrating community healthcare providers, company employees, and patients onto its platform. This facilitates collaboration between clinical staff and Cera’s care workers to deliver superior services.
Cera combines technology with a collaborative care approach to design a suite of user-friendly applications that enable caregivers, family members, and healthcare professionals to access real-time information, thereby facilitating timely patient support. SmartCare is Cera’s intelligent analytics platform, which leverages AI technology to monitor health risks in the elderly and promptly provide care recommendations to caregivers and family members. According to Cera, SmartCare can accurately predict the next most appropriate care action with an accuracy rate of up to 93%.
Such caring collaboration strengthens the bonds among families, physicians, and caregivers.
As a home care company, Cera’s emergence was no accident. In today’s fast-paced society, many challenges cannot be addressed by individuals alone. Nearly every household has someone requiring care, yet demanding work schedules often make it difficult to balance professional and family responsibilities. Cera has stepped in to meet this growing need. Although Cera has not yet gone public, its financing track record underscores strong investor confidence in its value, which explains why it has secured six rounds of funding within just four years.
