As a strategic investor, Aptar will collaborate with Shanghai Nimao Network Technology Co., Ltd. in the areas of digital disease management platforms and algorithms, and accelerate development, manufacturing, commercialization, and supply chain processes for both marketed and pipeline respiratory drugs, thereby achieving digitization across drug delivery, diagnosis, and patient support.

Lu Liang, CEO of Nimao Technology, stated, “Aptar, an investor in this funding round, holds a well-established position across the entire value chain in the global drug delivery technology sector. Our collaboration with Aptar will help us expand and accelerate the clinical application and commercialization of Nimao’s innovative products and technologies. We look forward to deeper, innovative exploration and cooperation with Aptar in the field of digital management of medicines and diseases in China and globally.”

Shanghai Nimao Network Technology Co., Ltd. (Nimao Tech) was founded in 2015, with its core team members hailing from multinational pharmaceutical companies, leading internet firms, Grade A tertiary hospitals, and research institutions. Focusing initially on chronic respiratory diseases (COPD and asthma), Nimao Tech has successfully extended its reach from patients to healthcare providers. On the hospital side, the company has developed auxiliary analytical models for common respiratory diseases based on pulmonary function big data, enabling real-time assessment of patient conditions and timely adjustment of intervention plans. This helps hospitals and physicians enhance their diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for respiratory diseases. Additionally, it assists doctors and medical institutions in enriching routine clinical data dimensions, improving clinical efficiency, and expanding avenues for scientific research.

On the patient side, medical-grade smart hardware is utilized to collect out-of-hospital pathological data from patients with chronic respiratory diseases. By integrating in-hospital and out-of-hospital data through mobile applications and WeChat Mini Programs, and combining individualized information with professional physicians’ diagnoses, corresponding interventions are provided to achieve closed-loop service for chronic disease patients.

Lu Liang, CEO of Shanghai Nimao Network Technology Co., Ltd. (Nimao Tech), stated that the development of internet-based healthcare has become a consensus among numerous hospitals, creating opportunities for Nimao Tech to bridge hospitals and patients by providing systematic services to both ends. As more hospitals obtain licenses for internet hospitals and begin establishing their internal internet hospital systems, Nimao Tech is well-positioned in the fields of respiratory care (COPD) and pediatrics (asthma) to help hospitals integrate in-hospital and out-of-hospital patient data, thereby offering a convenient platform for remote follow-up and disease management of chronic conditions outside the hospital setting. Nimao Tech has reached cooperation intentions with three large Grade A tertiary hospitals in Shanghai.

Shuomao Technology holds certifications issued by regulatory authorities including China’s CFDA, the EU CE, the US FDA, and Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The company has successfully commercialized multiple hardware products, such as electronic peak flow meters, smart inhalers, mesh nebulizers, and high-end nasal irrigators, with its products adopted by nearly 1,000 hospitals at various levels. In 2019, the company’s products facilitated respiratory chronic disease screening for over 100,000 patients in primary care hospitals.
