JD Health Launches Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital with Endorsement from Renowned TCM Masters

On June 7, the launch ceremony for the JD Health Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital and the establishment of the TCM Consultation Center was held in Beijing. JD Health announced the appointment of Gao Sihua, a nationally renowned senior TCM practitioner, as Chief Scientist of the JD Health TCM Hospital; Zhang Daning, a National Medical Master, as the Academic Leader of Nephrology at the TCM Consultation Center of the JD Health TCM Hospital; and Chen Baogui, one of the first batch of Nationally Famous TCM Practitioners, as the Academic Leader of Spleen and Stomach Diseases at the TCM Consultation Center of the JD Health TCM Hospital. Meanwhile, the team from the Chen Baogui Inheritance Studio has joined the JD Health TCM Hospital.

China’s medical resources have long suffered from uneven distribution, with Grade 3A tertiary hospitals concentrated primarily in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and provincial capital cities; this disparity is even more pronounced for high-quality traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) resources. Many patients travel great distances to major cities to seek consultations with renowned senior TCM practitioners, incurring high costs and facing extreme difficulty in securing appointments.

Professor Gao Sihua, a nationally renowned senior TCM practitioner and Chief Scientist at the JD Health Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, stated that the hospital has actively responded to the national call for decentralizing high-quality medical resources to grassroots levels. By offering online TCM consultations and inviting National TCM Masters, distinguished senior TCM practitioners, and their expert teams to provide services such as online diagnosis and prescription, the hospital leverages team-based online consultations to channel premium, top-tier medical resources downward. This approach addresses the difficulties faced by the public in accessing medical care and consulting renowned specialists. Meanwhile, the TCM Consultation Center consolidates the core expertise of the hospital’s leading specialists. Through the establishment of inheritance studios for National TCM Masters and workrooms for distinguished senior TCM practitioners, and based on the academic characteristics and specialized fields of these experts, it has set up various TCM specialist centers focusing on nephrology, respiratory diseases, andrology, oncology, endocrinology, gynecology, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions.

It is understood that, in addition to providing services such as online expert consultations and team-based case discussions, JD Health’s Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital has launched a range of other specialized services. For instance, the platform now offers a prescription function for TCM decoction pieces, enabling physicians to issue TCM prescriptions that include decoction pieces, granules, powders, water pills, honeyed pills, and herbal pastes, thereby meeting patients’ diverse needs for different dosage forms.

For pulse diagnosis, the current solution involves collaboration with local offline physicians to collect patients’ medical information, followed by comprehensive online diagnosis by renowned TCM experts.

In addition, JD Health’s TCM Hospital has launched specialized services such as live-streamed online consultations with renowned physicians. JD Health will collaborate with experts to regularly share popular science knowledge on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with users, promoting the TCM concept of “preventive treatment of disease.” Users can also interact with renowned experts through these live streams, thereby better managing their health and prevention in daily life.
