Roundtable Forum: How Was the COVID-19 Vaccine Developed So Quickly? Insights into Accelerated Vaccine Development

Jun 10, 2020 11:02 CST Updated 11:02

Currently, the risk of the COVID-19 epidemic in China is gradually decreasing, but the global epidemic risk continues to intensify. The shift of the epidemic’s epicenter from China to Western Europe, then to the United States, and subsequently to South America underscores the persistent pandemic nature of COVID-19. Ultimately, vaccination remains the only means to control the spread and prevalence of the epidemic.

The global outbreak of COVID-19 has brought unprecedented public attention to vaccines. Issues such as vaccine development timelines, technological pathways, and reliability have transcended professional circles to become matters of widespread public concern. In response, the Chinese Health Law Society, the Medical Laboratory Industry Branch of the China Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, BGI Win-Win, and VCBeat have jointly initiated this online roundtable forum. The discussion aims to analyze the progress, advantages, and disadvantages of different R&D approaches for COVID-19 vaccines, thereby sparking a broader conversation on emerging biotechnological pathways.

Event Time: June 10, 2020 (Wednesday) 20:00
Special Guests: Dr. Huang Wenlin, Dr. Zhang Xiaoning, Dr. Yang Naibo, Dr. Li Linxian
