On June 15, the “Chronic Disease Management Partner Program,” initiated by Medlinker, a chronic disease management platform in China, and guided by the International Education and Training Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare, was officially launched. The program aims to collaborate with a broad base of physicians during the pandemic to deliver more comprehensive and convenient online chronic disease management services via internet-based platforms, thereby improving the quality of life for patients with chronic diseases and establishing a digital chronic disease management system.

According to reports, upon joining Medlinker’s “Chronic Disease Management Partner Program,” physicians will receive physician liability insurance valued at RMB 100,000. Meanwhile, the Medlinker APP provides each participating physician with visualized patient management tools to support their academic research. Additionally, participating physicians will have the opportunity for face-to-face interactions with the team from the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), a top-tier U.S. medical academic journal. Physicians who demonstrate outstanding performance in chronic disease management may be promoted to “Medlinker Chronic Disease Management Partner Star,” granting them VIP seating at the Medlinker Year-End Gala and eligibility for the ultimate Medlinker Licensed Physician Contribution Award.

During the pandemic, a large number of patients with chronic diseases faced the dilemma of having “no doctors to consult and no medications available” due to the suspension of outpatient services in many departments. To alleviate this situation, Medlinker launched a large-scale public welfare initiative for chronic disease management—the “Chronic Disease Cloud Clinic”—calling on physicians to join the online cloud clinic to provide consultations, renew prescriptions, and prescribe medications, with drugs delivered directly to patients’ homes. This initiative addressed the challenges of interrupted medical care and medication access for chronic disease patients, ensuring timely stabilization and control of their conditions. Since its launch, Medlinker’s “Chronic Disease Cloud Clinic” has benefited nearly 10,000 patients with chronic diseases and received widespread acclaim. “Healing the sick and saving lives” is a core belief held by every physician. In the post-pandemic era, Medlinker’s newly introduced “Chronic Disease Management Partner Program” continues to provide physicians with a safe and convenient platform for practice, while offering real-time online assistance to chronic disease patients in need of medical consultations and prescription renewals, thereby resolving their healthcare access challenges.

In April 2020, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) jointly issued the “Notice on Printing and Distributing the Implementation Plan for Promoting the ‘Cloud Adoption, Data Utilization, and Intelligence Empowerment’ Action to Cultivate the New Economy.” The plan stipulates that, leveraging the National Digital Economy Innovation Development Pilot Zones as platforms, efforts should be made to explore and promote the implementation of first-diagnosis and appointment-based triage systems for internet-based medical services within the healthcare sector. It also calls for launching pilot programs, practical explorations, and broader application in areas such as health insurance settlement and payment standards for internet healthcare, online drug sales, tiered diagnosis and treatment, remote consultations, multi-site practice, family doctor services, and online ecosystem-based patient consultations. This signifies that, with the gradual liberalization of national policies on internet healthcare, an increasing number of patients will accept and become accustomed to managing chronic diseases online, thereby garnering greater social recognition for the “Internet + Chronic Disease Management” model.

Medlinker, established in 2014, is dedicated to providing long-term, standardized specialty chronic disease management services to a broad population of patients with chronic conditions, enabling them to enjoy a high quality of life. Currently, the Medlinker platform brings together over 800,000 real-name verified physicians and more than 48,000 contracted doctors across China. It covers multiple chronic disease areas, including liver diseases, diabetes, HIV, oncology, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, mental health and psychological conditions, and respiratory asthma. The platform offers services such as online consultations, electronic prescriptions, and home delivery of medications, allowing patients to access high-quality, efficient medical care without leaving their homes.
