Ms. Zhang from Anhui Province underwent conization surgery just over a month ago to treat early-stage cervical cancer. As she strongly desires to have a second child, she urgently needs an authoritative expert to assess her condition in light of her safety concerns. Through recommendations from fellow patients and online research, she learned that Professor Hua Keqin, Party Secretary of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, is a renowned national authority on cervical cancer treatment. However, concerned about the impact of the pandemic, Ms. Zhang was distressed at the prospect of traveling to Shanghai for medical care. The free online charity clinic under the “Healthy China: Mothers’ Action” initiative provided significant assistance to Ms. Zhang.

“Healthy China, Mothers’ Action” is a major public welfare initiative jointly launched by the All-China Women’s Federation, the National Health Commission, and the General Administration of Sport of China. The initiative aims to significantly improve health literacy among women nationwide and leverage the unique role of mothers within families to encourage all family members to adopt healthy lifestyles, thereby contributing to the Healthy China strategy through family well-being. As an invited partner organization of the “Healthy China, Mothers’ Action,” Haodf Online is responsible for organizing and implementing specialized online free clinics. From June 29 to July 31, Haodf Online, in collaboration with multiple top-tier public tertiary hospitals across China, will continuously provide free online consultation services to women nationwide.

As a national-level specialized hospital in obstetrics and gynecology directly affiliated with the National Health Commission, Fudan University Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital actively responded to the national call by partnering with Haodf.com on July 6 to conduct an online free clinic featuring experts from across the hospital. A total of 248 physicians from 17 departments participated, including General Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Gynecologic Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine, Center for Early Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical and Vaginal Diseases, Center for Early Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical and Fallopian Tube Diseases, Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Maternal Pathology), Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Fetal Pathology), General Obstetrics, Family Planning, Neonatology, Breast Surgery, Anesthesiology, Clinical Nutrition, Urology, Radiology, and Pharmacy Department, providing comprehensive solutions for maternal and infant health issues.

Ms. Zhang, mentioned earlier, was able to connect with Professor Hua Keqin from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University through this free online clinic without leaving her home. This left Ms. Zhang overjoyed: “I am truly thrilled. I never expected that such a renowned expert would personally respond to my questions online, and so promptly. The response was also very thorough. It is incredibly convenient,” said Ms. Zhang.

In fact, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University not only maintains its national leadership in the professional field but also continuously innovates and achieves breakthroughs in its collaborative explorations with third-party internet platforms. In terms of professional expertise, the hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is designated as a Key Discipline by the Ministry of Education and a Key Discipline of Shanghai Municipality. Both its gynecology and obstetrics divisions have been selected for the National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Program, and Obstetrics and Gynecology has been included among Shanghai’s Top-Priority Clinical Key Disciplines. In 2017, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission approved the establishment of the Shanghai Clinical Medical Center for Female Reproductive Diseases at the hospital. According to the “China Hospital Rankings” released by the Fudan Institute of Hospital Management, the hospital has ranked first in East China and second nationwide for ten consecutive years.

In its collaborations with third-party internet platforms, the hospital has been exploring an integrated online-offline model to maximize patient benefits. In the National Hospital Internet Influence Ranking assessed by the Health Industry Development Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology ranked first nationwide. In the annual “Top Doctor” selection, the hospital consistently had the highest number of listed physicians in the obstetrics and gynecology category. Owing to their exceptional medical expertise and strong service orientation, a total of 8,928 patients voluntarily posted positive reviews for the hospital’s physicians on the Haodf Online platform over the past two years, achieving a patient satisfaction rate of 99%.

The “Healthy China: Mothers’ Action” special online free clinic initiative has integrated authoritative public hospitals, such as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, with third-party internet healthcare platforms. By leveraging the internet, this initiative efficiently delivers high-quality expert medical services to patients across China, enabling the general public to better benefit from the advancements of the era in accessing healthcare.
