The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Tsinghua University, and Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital jointly initiated the establishment of the Medical Artificial Intelligence Committee of the China Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (also known as the China Smart Hospital Alliance). The initiative aims to build a collaborative platform for the AI healthcare industry, bring together key players and relevant institutions in the field of medical artificial intelligence, support government decision-making, and promote industrial development.
MedNet Global Medical AI Research Platform Launch Ceremony
The MedNet Global Medical AI Research Platform will be built upon the business collaboration between the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. By studying and drawing lessons from the ImageNet project, it aims to establish MedNet for healthcare artificial intelligence, providing services such as data quality control, algorithm training, model optimization, performance evaluation, application demonstration, and technology transfer, thereby promoting scientific research and innovation in global medical AI. Meanwhile, as the initiator of the public health segment of MedNet, the World Health Organization (WHO) China Office will leverage the WHO & ITU Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health to advance the development of a public health AI database.

At the Global AI Health Summit of the 2020 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and 36Kr Research jointly released the White Paper on the Development of the Global AI Healthcare Industry in 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the “White Paper”).
This white paper provides a comprehensive overview of the global development of AI in healthcare, covering industry trends, policy frameworks, corporate landscapes, and technological advancements, with the aim of presenting a holistic view of the sector worldwide. Multiple Achievements Released by the AI Medical Device Innovation Collaboration Platform
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has not only created new opportunities for the biomedical device sector but also introduced new risks and challenges to regulation and industry. In July 2019, the AI Medical Device Innovation Cooperation Platform was established through a joint initiative led by the Center for Medical Device Evaluation of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), together with 13 other entities including the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). The platform aims to coordinate efforts to promote the translation and application of AI medical devices in China. One year after its inception, multiple achievements of the AI Medical Device Innovation Cooperation Platform will be unveiled at the summit.
