On July 28, 2020, at the 2020 Big Data Expo hosted by the Executive Committee of the China International Big Data Industry Expo, Dr. Yan Jun, Chief AI Scientist at Yidu Cloud, was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech titled “New AI Infrastructure and Urban Immunity Platform Solutions.” Dr. Yan stated, “During the pandemic, Yidu Cloud rapidly deployed dynamic epidemic monitoring platforms in more than ten cities across China, supporting the government in implementing precise prevention and control measures and making science-based decisions. The company will continue to invest in new AI infrastructure.”

Amid the Chinese government’s continuous efforts to bolster new infrastructure, the integration of next-generation information infrastructure—such as artificial intelligence (AI)—with the healthcare sector is becoming increasingly profound. In particular, following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, leveraging AI technologies to assist governments and public health systems in achieving early detection, early warning, and early containment of outbreaks has become a key direction for the digital and intelligent transformation of public health systems.

Leveraging these robust underlying AI capabilities, along with continuous daily practice and accumulation, Yidu Cloud developed the City Immunity Platform during the pandemic. By utilizing AI model inference to construct urban social graphs and employing graph search engines, the platform conducts comprehensive risk assessment analysis, risk tracking and monitoring, predictive simulation and resource allocation, dynamic decision support, and dynamic policy adjustment for specific regions. This ensures the orderly operation of the socio-economy during the outbreak, maximizes the reduction of mortality and infection rates, and effectively achieves “pre-event risk prevention, in-event management, and post-event tracking.”

With proper authorization, Yidu Cloud has built a platform that structures and standardizes multi-source heterogeneous data and processes complex medical natural language. This platform transforms non-computable data into computable forms, enabling the development of more diverse and accurate AI algorithmic models for better real-world application and facilitating the deployment of more intelligent healthcare solutions.

Yidu Cloud aims to leverage artificial intelligence technology to continuously support the development of urban public health systems. It is committed to helping governments achieve second-level detection, minute-level early warning, and hour-level containment of outbreaks, thereby striking an ideal dynamic balance between epidemic control and the restoration of socioeconomic life. Furthermore, Yidu Cloud seeks to empower a broader health industry ecosystem, enabling AI technology to make greater contributions to human health in areas such as scientific research, clinical treatment, clinical decision support, personal health services, and new drug development.

“2020 Big Data Expo Releases” is a key component of the regional activities under the “Never-Ending Big Data Expo—2020 Global Communication Campaign.” As scheduled, several enterprise-led release events will be held from May to September, adopting a hybrid online-offline format to highlight new technologies, products, applications, and achievements from big data companies.
