To further advance the implementation of Yangtze River Delta integration and guide the coordinated development of industrial clusters, the Yangtze River Delta Entrepreneurs Roundtable Conference was recently held in Shanghai. At the conference, the Yangtze River Delta Digital Health Industry Chain Alliance was officially established. Jointly founded by 68 entities, including WeDoctor Group, Zhejiang University, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, and Huawei Cloud, the alliance aims to build an open platform integrating industry, academia, research, and application. It seeks to create a Yangtze River Delta Integrated Digital Healthcare Service Community (hereinafter referred to as the “Yangtze River Delta Health Community”), improve public health standards in the region, and accelerate the development of the digital health industry in the Yangtze River Delta.

The Yangtze River Delta Digital Health Industry Chain Alliance, one of the four industry chain alliances under the Yangtze River Delta Entrepreneurs Alliance, is headquartered in Hangzhou. Led by WeDoctor Group as the chairing entity, the alliance was jointly established by renowned universities—including Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, and the University of Science and Technology of China—prestigious Grade A tertiary hospitals such as Huashan Hospital, Ruijin Hospital, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and Jiangsu Province People’s Hospital, as well as 67 other organizations including Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, and China Mobile Cloud. The alliance covers the entire industry chain spanning healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance, integrated medical and elderly care, finance, and digital technologies.
Following its establishment, the Digital Health Alliance will fully leverage the advantages of the Yangtze River Delta as a medical highland and the development of the entire digital health industry chain. It will focus on building the “Yangtze River Delta Health Community,” with plans to launch the Yangtze River Delta Internet Medical Insurance and Big Health Service Platform. This unified platform will enable data interoperability across medical insurance, healthcare services, pharmaceuticals, and integrated medical and elderly care, thereby driving innovative development in areas such as integrated medical and commercial insurance services, primary healthcare services, chronic disease management, and smart Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most economically dynamic, open, and innovative regions in China. The three provinces and one municipality within this region not only boast abundant high-quality medical resources but also host a cluster of advanced digital health enterprises. During this year’s epidemic prevention and control efforts, the digital health industry responded rapidly and mobilized resources efficiently, driving the deep integration of healthcare service elements and perfecting closed-loop service models. This demonstrated a significant improvement in service efficiency and user experience under the convergence of the industrial chain.

He noted that the establishment and development of the Alliance will help shape a healthcare industry landscape in the Yangtze River Delta characterized by “joint construction, collaborative governance, and shared benefits,” accelerate the transition from a “medical care-centered” to a “health-centered” model, and build a circle of well-being for residents in the Yangtze River Delta region.
