CHCC enjoys the prestigious reputation of being “Asia’s No. 1 Conference on Healthcare Construction.” As a dedicated observer in the field of hospital construction, CHCC has spanned sixteen years to date and has now become the largest, highest-level, and most professional branded event in China and even the Asia-Pacific region, serving as the preferred platform for exchange and cooperation among governments, hospitals, and enterprises.

Compared with previous editions, this year’s conference reached new heights in stature. Over the course of three days, multiple concurrent sessions were held, covering more than 80 thematic forums across diverse medical specialties. From top-level planning to implementation, the event comprehensively presented a complete knowledge system for the transformation and development of proactive health-oriented hospitals.

In terms of its guest lineup, CHCC 2020 surpassed previous editions. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhong Nanshan and Li Lanjuan, delivered virtual addresses, while numerous other academicians gathered to share their insights on reforming healthcare service delivery models. CHCC also invited Liu Diankui, former head of the Public Hospital Reform Group under the State Council’s Office of Healthcare System Reform; Wang Caiyou, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Medical Equipment; and other leading figures from industry, academia, and research, along with tens of thousands of professionals engaged in hospital construction. The event aimed to forge an open and innovative “Health Silk Road.”

Held concurrently was the 21st China International Hospital Construction, Equipment and Management Exhibition. Core products from more than 600 medical enterprises across over 30 countries were showcased in a 100,000-square-meter exhibition hall, collectively forming a comprehensive platform spanning the entire industry chain, including government, academia, research, production, and healthcare sectors.

The convening of the 2020 CHCC holds significant importance for the field of hospital construction. The perspectives exchanged and industry trends revealed during the conference, with the joint efforts of industry participants deeply engaged in hospital construction such as Silver Wing Intelligent Solutions Medical Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., are poised to become realities in the future.

Offering Comprehensive Solutions and Personalized Services

As hospitals expand in scale, the frequent transportation of large volumes of medicines, medical devices, linens, and waste between departments and buildings has become increasingly common, drawing greater attention to the efficiency and safety of material delivery. Meanwhile, the level of automation, informatization, and intelligent development in hospitals continues to rise. Against this backdrop, smart logistics systems are being widely implemented in a growing number of hospitals.

Modern intelligent logistics and warehousing systems are primarily categorized into four types: medium-duty logistics systems, rail-guided carts, pneumatic tube systems, and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) robots. Each of these four logistics systems has its own distinct advantages, with different technologies meeting hospital demands for varying speeds and weight capacities in material transport. In the actual implementation of logistics systems, it is essential to consider not only the inherent characteristics of the logistics system itself but also practical factors such as hospital layout, positioning, and disciplinary specialties, thereby adopting a customized approach tailored to the specific needs of each institution.

Since its inception, Silver Wing Medical has been dedicated to researching how to leverage medical Internet of Things (IoT) technology to achieve comprehensive material transportation and warehousing management in hospitals, providing high-quality, all-encompassing overall solutions for logistics automation.

In the initial phase of the project, Silver Wing Intelligent Solutions Medical Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. will conduct a comprehensive survey to collect all foundational information and data regarding logistics and distribution within the hospital. Based on the hospital’s actual circumstances, the company will provide detailed planning and forecast future patient visit trends, thereby systematically increasing design capacity to formulate the most targeted solution. “Such a solution not only meets the hospital’s current patient volume but also enables long-term lean logistics management, avoiding issues of redundant construction.”

Currently, Silver Wing Medical has established four major solutions: hospital-dedicated intelligent warehousing systems, hospital-dedicated steel-pipe pneumatic transmission systems, hospital-dedicated high-load automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and an intelligent warehousing system management platform. These solutions enable the provision of personalized, comprehensive services to hospitals of various types, and its products have been widely deployed in hospitals across provinces and municipalities throughout China.

Logistics Meets Information Flow: Smart Hospital Construction Is Gaining Momentum

Hospitals are striving to build proactive health-oriented facilities, implementing lean management practices and leveraging advanced high-tech tools to create greater value with fewer human resources and equipment, shorter timeframes, and less space. In the management and development of such proactive health-oriented hospitals, logistics management has received significant attention. At the exhibition, Silver Wing Medical’s comprehensive intelligent hospital supply chain solution attracted considerable interest, drawing sustained crowds to its booth and becoming a distinctive highlight of the event.

“To build a truly smart hospital, it is essential to achieve the coupling of logistics and information flows. By leveraging a unified management platform that connects the warehouse logistics system with the Hospital Information System (HIS), these two systems can be intelligently integrated, enabling end-to-end traceability of in-hospital items such as medications, specimens, and medical devices. The hospital distribution system, which interfaces with the HIS, can also effectively realize informatization, digitalization, networking, integration, intelligence, and automation,” shared Ding Yuan, Marketing Director at Silver Wing Medical.
