On November 12, WeDoctor Group and Zhejiang Houda signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will jointly build smart traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pharmacies across China, promoting the full-process digitalization of internet-based diagnosis and treatment, follow-up consultations and prescribing, prescription circulation, intelligent decoction, and home delivery. This initiative aims to bridge the “last mile” in TCM services and provide patients with one-stop TCM healthcare solutions.

Unlike traditional Chinese medicine pharmacies in medical institutions, smart Chinese medicine pharmacies fully leverage innovative technologies such as the Internet and the Internet of Things (IoT), and achieve end-to-end innovation in pharmaceuticals, logistics, and distribution through process reengineering. On one hand, they empower traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners via internet hospital platforms and intelligent auxiliary systems for TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment, thereby enabling real-time transmission and collection of TCM prescriptions. On the other hand,VCBeatPromote the full-process digital management of information across all stages, including automatic receipt of electronic prescriptions, barcode printing, dispensing of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) decoction pieces, verification, soaking, decoction, packaging, medication dispensing, and distribution, to achieve comprehensive quality control and information traceability throughout the decoction process.Full ProcessTraceability.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is the cornerstone of therapeutic efficacy in TCM practice. TCM, characterized by its simplicity, convenience, reliability, and affordability, enjoys a solid grassroots foundation among the general population. The key to further enhancing the quality of TCM services lies in leveraging and integrating innovative technologies to improve the quality of herbal decoction while enabling seamless end-to-end service delivery across the entire TCM care continuum.

The “Opinions on Promoting the Development of ‘Internet + Medical Health’” issued by the General Office of the State Council emphasizes the promotion of “smart traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pharmacies,” improving pharmaceutical care services for TCM decoction pieces and classical formula preparations, supporting the application of intelligent auxiliary systems for TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment, and enhancing the capacity of primary-level TCM diagnosis and treatment services.

It is understood that WeDoctor is the only digital health platform in the industry covering the entire “Internet + Healthcare” value chain. It has pioneered new business models in China, such as online diagnosis and treatment, prescription circulation, and online medical insurance payments. Its subsidiary, Huatuo Cloud, has built regional Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cloud platforms for more than ten counties and cities across China, including Jiaxing, Lishui, Yiwu, and Changting County in Longyan. To date, it has connected over 1,900 medical institutions nationwide and assisted in issuing more than 4.52 million prescriptions, making it the most widely applied “Cloud-based TCM Brain” globally.

Zhejiang Houda is a national high-tech enterprise and the primary drafter of the national industry standard “Automated Decoction System for Traditional Chinese Medicine.” Its innovative applications—including an intelligent TCM decoction system, the Yiyin Cloud Health Service Platform, an intelligent dispensing system for herbal slices, an intelligent decoction system, and an intelligent warehousing system for herbal slices—ensure that decocted medicines meet quality and quantity standards, enabling patients to easily access safe and reliable traditional Chinese medicine.

Dr. Ni Rong, Senior Vice President of WeDoctor and CEO of Huatuo CloudIt stated that the "lifeblood" of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) lies at the grassroots level. Following this collaboration, further utilization and integration of internet platforms and modern technologies will empower grassroots medical institutions and TCM practitioners, while strengthening the supply and distribution of TCM products in the cooperative regions. This initiative aims to provide patients with safe and convenient access to TCM consultations and treatments, thereby bridging the "last mile" in delivering services from renowned experts and classic prescriptions to grassroots patients.
