Pfizer and LianBio Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance Innovative Therapies in Greater China

NEW YORK, SHANGHAI, and PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 19, 2020 — Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) and LianTuo Biopharma today announced a collaboration to jointly advance the development and commercialization of innovative medicines in Greater China.LianTuo Biopharma, founded by the world-renowned investment firm Perceptive Advisors, has established a strategic partnership with Pfizer to jointly pursue innovative business development opportunities. The two companies will leverage LianTuo Biopharma’s and Pfizer’s capabilities in clinical development, regulatory affairs, and commercialization to deliver life-changing breakthrough innovations to patients.

In addition to its recent participation in LianTuo Biopharma’s Series C financing round, Pfizer will provide up to $70 million in non-dilutive funding for drug license-in and co-development, pursuant to the collaboration agreement. LianTuo Biopharma will grant Pfizer product options and engage in co-development. Pfizer will hold the right of first negotiation to secure commercialization rights for co-developed drugs, with each subsequent collaboration subject to mutual economic considerations. During the term of the partnership, Pfizer may provide specific support for marketing, development, and regulatory registration activities.
