Digital Health Service Platform Provider
On December 28, Taizhou Enze Medical Center (Group) and Weimai Inc. joined forces to establish the “Enze-Weimai” Internet Healthcare Services Innovation Research Institute, aiming to explore and refine service pathways for comprehensive disease coverage and full-course care based on the “Internet Plus” model, thereby fostering deep trust and highly harmonious doctor-patient relationships.

It is reported that this institute is the first Internet medical service innovation research institute in China jointly established by a public medical institution and a third-party Internet healthcare platform builder and operator. Using the collaboration between Enze Medical Center (Group) and Weimai Inc. as a blueprint, the institute adheres to the philosophy of “Big Health, Big Data, Big Intelligence, and Big Industry.” By assembling specialized teams for industry-academia-research collaboration and conducting close-range industry observations, it engages in research, discussion, communication, and cooperation with all stakeholders in Internet healthcare. The institute will generate and promptly release research findings, thereby contributing think-tank expertise to deepening healthcare reform, promoting high-quality hospital development, and enabling various clinical specialties to leverage Internet-based tools to achieve timely, effective, and personalized medical decision-making and services for both physicians and patients.

In his address, Chen Haixiao, Director of Taizhou Enze Medical Center (Group), stated, “Healthcare is a conservative industry, while the internet is a highly dynamic one. Integrating these two sectors is an extremely challenging endeavor. Nevertheless, the dynamism of the internet requires continuous updates, and the conservatism of healthcare needs an infusion of new energy. Today, by combining these two sectors and establishing the Internet Healthcare Services Innovation Research Institute, we aim to conduct innovative research and provide better services to the public from new perspectives, effectively transforming the loose, shallow connections of the internet into strong, meaningful ones. The value of our exploration will be determined by whether it earns the approval of the general public. We hope everyone will actively participate and work diligently to advance this initiative, creating value for the people and fostering a better healthcare ecosystem.”
Zhao Xiaoming, Vice President of Taizhou University and Dean of the Advanced Institute of Taizhou University, stated: “We hope that, following its establishment, the Institute will strengthen multi-party collaboration, fully leverage the advantages of local technological and medical resources, and explore and advance the development of internet-based healthcare. By optimizing institutional and mechanistic designs, we will coordinate the construction of both regulatory and public service platforms for internet-based healthcare. Through the comprehensive application of next-generation information technologies—such as 5G, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain—we will organically integrate relevant elemental resources, enabling data to move more while reducing the need for patients to travel. This will continuously enhance the convenience, precision, and intelligence level of medical services, making new and greater contributions to the development of a Healthy Taizhou in the new era.”

Qiu Jialin, founder of Weimai, stated, “Empowering public hospitals and enabling physicians to better serve patients, thereby making healthcare services more accessible, is the goal of our research institute. We hope that the establishment of this institute will help transform the doctor-patient relationship from short-term to long-term engagement, and from weak to strong connections. Meanwhile, similar to the online COVID-19 response platform we previously developed, we aim to explore successful models and share them to empower others. We encourage greater participation across medical specialties: you drive innovation in service delivery, while we provide technological support. Leveraging the internet, AI, and big data, we are committed to delivering comprehensive, all-encompassing, and full-lifecycle healthcare services to the entire population.”
At the subsequent thematic forum, experts including Wu Xiaoshu, Assistant to the CTO of Weimai, and Chen Lingping, Chairman of Enze Software Co., Ltd., delivered keynote lectures on internet healthcare services. During the symposium, attending guests engaged in discussions on internet healthcare services.
