In the fields of in vitro diagnostics, high-value consumables, and rehabilitation equipment, how can the right development path be identified through upstream-downstream supply chain collaboration, upgrading of technological and industrial foundations, and coordinated integration of key industrial development factors?June 22, 2021,2021 The 3rd International Summit on Medical Device Innovationwill be held onNanjing · Gaochunheld. This event will center on“Intelligent Manufacturing as the Foundation, Collaborative Innovation”Centered on this theme, the event will bring together the most active medical device innovators, listed companies, financial institutions, and healthcare providers from China and abroad through formats such as the Medical Device Vitality Rankings, closed-door government-enterprise meetings, overseas live connections, keynote speeches, and roundtable discussions, creating a premier offline gathering for the medical device industry.
Guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, this event was hosted by the Nanjing New Medicine and Life Health Industry Chain Working Task Force and the People’s Government of Gaochun District, Nanjing, and organized by the Office of the Innovation Committee of the CPC Gaochun District Committee and VCBeat.

Edvard Moser,2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine Laureate
Edvard Moser is a Norwegian psychologist and neuroscientist, currently serving as Professor of Neuroscience and Director of the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. In collaboration with his long-term partner and wife, May-Britt Moser, he discovered grid cells in the entorhinal cortex, providing insights into the neural mechanisms underlying spatial mapping. He was awarded the Horwitz Prize in 2013 and the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2014.
Edward Moser’s research focuses on the brain’s “built-in GPS”—the positioning system that enables individuals to orient themselves in space and provides the cellular foundation for higher-order cognitive functions. His work, conducted in collaboration with his partners, has answered key questions such as “How do we know where we are?” “How do we find our way from one place to another?” and “How do we store this information so that it can be readily retrieved when we need to navigate the same route again?” In its award citation, the Nobel Committee stated that this discovery resolves a question that has puzzled philosophers and scientists for centuries: How does the brain create a map of the surrounding space, and how do we orient ourselves in complex environments?
Edward Mosol predicted that inIn the coming years or decades, humanity will gain a better understanding of our cognitive and comprehension capabilities, thereby enabling the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders.“We can not only gain insights into the healthy brain but also understand the brain after death. Since neurological and psychiatric disorders both stem from dysfunction within the same system in the brain, we hope that research on the healthy brain will also enhance our understanding of the postmortem brain.”
Edward Moser believes thatThe Convergence of Brain Science and Artificial Intelligence Unlocks Infinite PossibilitiesAlthough it remains highly challenging to use artificial intelligence for comprehensive observation of the brain, we can leverage AI to examine certain “patterns” of brain activity, such as how neurons and brain cells engage in self-learning. This may yield information that is inaccessible through traditional methods. Therefore, I believe that the collaboration between artificial intelligence and neuroscience can provide researchers with novel insights, which in turn may open up new avenues for research.
At the summit, we have specially invitedNobel Laureate in Medicine, Academician of the Two AcademiesRenowned experts will share cutting-edge domestic and international technologies and frontier medical advancements, focusing on medical development amidst technological transformation, and redefining the evolutionary logic of technology and innovative thinking in the industry.
