About the Zhong Nanshan Medical Foundation of Guangdong Province
The Guangdong Zhong Nanshan Medical Foundation is a non-public fundraising foundation with independent legal person status, officially registered and established on July 5, 2011. It was initiated by the Industry-University-Research Base of the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease and the Industry-University-Research Branch Center of the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Disease, with the support of Academician Zhong Nanshan. Academician Zhong Nanshan serves as the Honorary Chairman of the Foundation.
The Foundation has always adhered to the mission of “reaching for excellence while staying grounded in the service of the people,” guided by the purpose of “serving the nation, society, medicine, and the public.” Upholding the Nanshan Spirit—characterized by dedication, innovation, pragmatism, and teamwork—as its core values, the Foundation’s primary areas of operation include: funding academic exchanges in medicine; supporting and rewarding scientific research, education, innovative studies, technology promotion and application, and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements in the medical field; conducting popular science education on medical health and compiling/publishing medical books and journals; and carrying out voluntary public welfare and charitable activities such as poverty alleviation, assistance for the needy, medical aid, elderly care support, epidemic prevention and control, and health promotion.
