On March 8, Baidu Health and Cangzhou People’s Hospital announced a strategic partnership. The two parties will jointly establish the “Cangzhou People’s Hospital Baidu Health Internet Hospital,” providing patients with health management services covering the entire process of pre-diagnosis, during-diagnosis, and post-diagnosis care. This initiative aims to build a “patient-oriented whole-course health management service system” and enhance the hospital’s ability to deliver convenient and affordable healthcare services. Attendees at the strategic signing ceremony included Liang Yinghua, Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Government; Zhang Yan, Deputy Secretary-General; Kou Bingqian, Director of the Municipal Health Commission; Hu Chaoyang, Deputy Director of the Municipal Health Commission; Wang Zhaofa, Party Secretary of Cangzhou People’s Hospital; Lv Zenglu, President of Cangzhou People’s Hospital; and Yang Minglu, General Manager of Baidu Health. It is reported that this is the first internet hospital co-established by Baidu Health with a public hospital. Previously, Baidu Health had independently developed internet hospital services in Hainan and Yinchuan.

It is reported that the internet hospital jointly established by both parties will provide one-stop services to users in Cangzhou and across China, including pre-consultation for specific diseases, appointment registration, online follow-up visits, home delivery of medications, and follow-up management. Cangzhou medical insurance users can also enjoy online medical insurance payment during consultations and medication purchases. Through this collaboration to build an internet hospital, Baidu Health will fully leverage its ecosystem traffic advantages as well as its own resource and service strengths to comprehensively support public hospitals in terms of traffic, branding, and patient management services. This initiative aims to help hospitals enhance their brand influence, drive growth in online business, improve diagnostic and treatment efficiency, and increase patient satisfaction. Furthermore, it will strengthen post-discharge patient care capabilities, enabling a seamless “discharged but still connected” experience, thereby providing all-around support for the sustainable and healthy operation of hospitals.

Wang Zhaofa, Party Secretary of Cangzhou People’s Hospital, stated that as the collaboration with Baidu Health deepens, patient health data will become fully traceable online. This initiative will not only assist physicians in post-consultation patient management, alleviate their workload, and improve healthcare efficiency, but also meet patients’ needs for comprehensive, full-cycle health management. By empowering both the hospital and its patients, this effort is poised to become a hallmark example of public health services.

“Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, public attention to health has continued to rise. Baidu Health accurately responds to an average of 200 million health-related search queries per day. At present, user demand for online appointment registration, medical consultations, follow-up visits, and medication purchases via internet platforms is steadily increasing.” Yang Minglu, General Manager of Baidu Health, stated that the strategic cooperation between Baidu Health and Cangzhou People’s Hospital has further enriched the ecosystem capabilities of the Baidu Health platform. By collaborating with renowned public hospitals, Baidu Health is rapidly building a nationwide internet medical service network and establishing a “patient-oriented whole-course health management service system.”

“By connecting Baidu’s vast online user base, Baidu Health builds a bridge between hospitals and patients to facilitate tiered diagnosis and treatment,” said Yang Minglu. She stated that Baidu Health will establish in-depth collaborations with public hospitals in more regions, continuously iterate and upgrade its services around patient needs, develop regional internet hospitals and specialized internet hospitals for specific disciplines, promote the widespread adoption of internet hospitals, and integrate services such as Baidu’s intelligent driving and Xiaodu smart devices. These efforts aim to enhance the intelligence and operational efficiency of medical services, providing users with a more convenient healthcare experience.
