Panlin Capital Led the Series A Investment in Shanghai Jianxin Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. (“Jianxin Bio”), an Innovative Bispecific Antibody Developer Focused on Tumor ImmunotherapyRecently, Panlin Capital led the Series A financing round for Shanghai Jianxin Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. (“Jianxin Bio”), an innovative drug developer specializing in bispecific antibodies for tumor immunotherapy. Co-investors included Hongfeng Capital and Qiaojing Capital, while existing investor Tuojin Capital increased its investment. Following the completion of this financing, Jianxin Bio will accelerate the Investigational New Drug (IND) applications in both China and the United States, as well as Phase I clinical trials, for its two dual-target products, BIS5 and BIS2.
Jianxin Biopharma is a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research and development of innovative biologics. The company focuses on developing bispecific antibodies for tumor immunotherapy, aiming to address the critical unmet needs of specific patient populations with cancer. Its lead investigational product, BIS5, is a bispecific antibody designed for the treatment of lung cancer, targeting patients who are non-responsive or have developed resistance to PD-1 inhibitors. BIS5 demonstrates differentiated advantages in activating specific immune cell subsets and effectively reversing immunosuppression, positioning it as a potential next-generation successor to PD-1 therapies. Another key asset, BIS2, is a bispecific immunotherapeutic agent targeting patients with pancreatic and gastric cancers. Featuring a novel molecular design and a differentiated mechanism of action, BIS2 has demonstrated robust efficacy in preclinical animal models.
The company has more than 10 additional drug candidates at various stages of preclinical development, collectively forming a rich and tiered product pipeline. These products are primarily developed based on the company’s proprietary “S-body” technology platform, which offers advantages such as sequence specificity, simplified manufacturing processes, and absence of mismatch. Furthermore, the “S-body” platform incorporates extensive know-how, establishing a robust patent-based technological barrier.
“In the view of Panlin Capital’s biomedical investment team, although tumor immunotherapy single-target drugs represented by PD-1 have achieved remarkable success, the clinical needs they address are ultimately limited. ‘There remains vast room for innovation and significant opportunities in the field of tumor immunotherapy. We are optimistic about the potential and prospects of dual-target tumor immunotherapy drugs in addressing unmet clinical needs in oncology. Jianxin Biomedical is one of the earliest innovative companies in China to strategically position itself in the development of dual-target tumor immunotherapy drugs. Its founder has demonstrated foresight and uniqueness in target selection and combination strategies, and its core products exhibit clear differentiated design and innovativeness. We are confident in the potential of its core products to address unmet clinical needs in cancers such as lung cancer and pancreatic cancer.’”
Dr. Liu Jiajian, Founder of Jianxin Biomedical, stated: “We extend our sincere gratitude to Panlin Capital, Hongfeng Capital, Qiaojing Capital, TuoJin Capital, and other new and existing shareholders from professional investment institutions in the field of new drug development for their support. Jianxin Biomedical will continue to uphold innovation-driven product development as its core mission, focusing on the urgent clinical needs of cancer patients in the post-PD-1 therapy era. We are committed to bringing cutting-edge innovative products that address the specific needs of patient subgroups to market, thereby benefiting patients and their families.”
Tang Aimin, Healthcare Partner at Panlin Capital, stated, “We are optimistic about the innovative opportunities and growth potential in the field of tumor immunology bispecific antibodies. Jianxin Biotech is an innovative company with a forward-looking vision in the field of tumor immunology. The founder, Mr. Liu, has worked for many years at major pharmaceutical companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Hengrui Medicine, where he was responsible for the research, development, and management of large-molecule drugs, accumulating extensive know-how. Jianxin Biotech’s product features novel target combinations with strong innovativeness, holding promise to address the clinical needs of patients who are non-responsive or resistant to PD-1 therapy. We eagerly look forward to the company’s pipeline products entering clinical trials soon, thereby benefiting cancer patients both domestically and internationally at an early date.”
Hao Jingjing, Executive Director of Tuojin Capital, stated, “Since our investment in Jianxin Biomedical, the company has made steady and orderly progress in its R&D efforts. The leading position of its core products and the high efficiency of its pipeline development have exceeded our expectations. In the post-immunotherapy era, bispecific antibodies are gradually emerging as potential next-generation mainstream therapeutics, and Jianxin Biomedical’s core products are strategically positioned in this field. Furthermore, the company’s pipeline includes distinctive antibody-based modalities targeting immune-related pathways, such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). As long-standing shareholders who have worked closely with Dr. Liu for an extended period, we have been deeply impressed by his profound understanding of antibody drugs and his efficient, precise development approach. We believe such a team is rare, which motivated our decision to increase our investment. With the support of additional strong shareholders, we are confident that Jianxin Biomedical is poised to become a benchmark enterprise in the new generation of antibody therapeutics.”
Lou Guoqiang, Founding Partner of Hongfeng Investment, stated, “Dr. Liu Jiajian has led his team in continuous exploration in the field of tumor immune bispecific antibodies, establishing a robust product pipeline, with many projects demonstrating strong potential for clinical application. Hongfeng Investment is delighted to participate in Jianxin Biologics’ pioneering work addressing unmet clinical needs, particularly in the field of tumor immunotherapy. We are confident that Dr. Liu and his team will ultimately achieve positive outcomes through their dedicated efforts.”
Huang Bing, Executive Director of Qiaojing Capital, stated, “The founder and core team have accumulated years of experience in the field of bispecific antibody drug development, forming an innovative, efficient, and highly execution-oriented team. We recognize the potential of both BIS5 and BIS2, as well as the innovation and clinical promise of the subsequent pipeline. Qiaojing Capital is committed to supporting the growth of innovative enterprises like Jianxin Biologics, fostering the development of more and better products for clinical use.”
