Original Title: Wuxi·Xi'an Brain-Computer Interface Scientific and Technological Achievements Exchange and Transformation Conference Held

Brain-Inspired Intelligence, Moving Towards Xi

On March 19, the "Brain-Inspired Intelligence, Setting Course for Xi" Wuxi-Xi'an Brain-Computer Interface Technology Achievements Exchange and Transformation Matchmaking Conference was held in Xi'an. This was the first matchmaking event hosted by the Wuxi (West Triangle Economic Zone) Innovation Cooperation Center since its establishment. Nearly 60 representatives from Wuxi's industrial parks, enterprises, capital firms, and hospitals traveled to Xi'an to actively engage with cutting-edge brain-computer interface technologies, further integrating resources across the upstream and downstream industrial chain while attracting talent to gather in Wuxi.

This year, the National Two Sessions in China mentioned brain-computer interface for the first time in the government work report, listing it alongside future energy, quantum technology, embodied intelligence, and 6G as one of the future industries to be developed. The biopharmaceutical industry is one of the four landmark industries that Wuxi City is committed to building. On the foundation of an industry scale exceeding 200 billion yuan, Wuxi has taken the lead in establishing a细分 advantage in brain-computer interfaces, constructing a growth point in the field of future industries.

Xi'an, which gathers major universities and innovation institutions, is a hub for cutting-edge technologies in future industries such as brain-computer interfaces and commercial aerospace. At this event, leading experts including Professor Wu Shengxi from the Air Force Medical University, Professor Xu Guanghua, Tengfei Distinguished Professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Professor Xie Songyun from the School of Artificial Intelligence at Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Professor Qin Hanlin from Xidian University were invited to attend and deliver keynote presentations on technological breakthroughs.

Prof. Xuguang Hua's team developed a cerebral detector for infantile amblyopia, which won the international Red Dot Design Award, despite its cerebral rehabilitation...RobotThe industrial transformation application has been carried out, but he still expressed difficulty regarding the technical implementation. "The research and development and certification cycles for products in the medical field are long, requiring substantial and sustained financial investment." He stated that the team is contemplating how to use preliminary results of transformation to support the latest R&D. Professor Xie Songyun’s team has developed a series of technologies capable of reading people's intentions. Despite over 20 years of technical accumulation, she believes that the technology still lacks clear application scenarios and product positioning, necessitating collaboration with professional teams on the application side to achieve practical implementation.

Communication makes more cooperation possible. For instance, brain-computer interface detection chips rely on imports, but Wuxi, as a highland of the integrated circuit industry, has a foundation for cooperation in related fields; monitoring visual fatigue is closely related to automobile manufacturing, and Wuxi has significant advantages in the field of intelligent cockpits… It can be seen that developing brain-computer interfaces is not only an inevitable step in planning future industries, but also a powerful "fulcrum" for Wuxi to tap into its existing resources.

On-site, there are also "model cases" of cooperation. Prior to this, Xi'an Zhentai Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. had already collaborated with Wuxi Mental Health Center to apply related products in clinical settings. This collaboration has also unleashed significant market demand. Doctor Ren Caili from Wuxi Mental Health Center also revealed on-site, "Patients are very proactive and have a strong willingness to participate in clinical trials."

The "Dream Seed" for technology transformation has been sown in Wuxi. "I have two students who want to start a business," Professor Xie Songyun’s eyes gleamed, "Does Wuxi have any relevant talent policies?" The implication was self-evident. As soon as she stepped out of the venue, she was surrounded. "I’m from Wuxi High-Tech Zone; we have a Life Science Park. We can provide docking services and introduce policies!" Countless hands were firmly shaken, a grander and more magnificent industrial future within reach.
