On June 12, the Peking University Medicine Forum on Innovative Development of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, jointly hosted by the Health Science Center of Peking University and the Shi Xuemin Foundation for the Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, will be held in Beijing under the theme “Inheriting the Essence, Upholding Integrity, and Pursuing Innovation.”

In the height of summer, as the sun blazes over Beijing, the Peking University Medicine Forum on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Innovation and Development will be grandly held in Beijing on June 12. Distinguished medical leaders, including Academicians Wu Xianzhong, Han Jisheng, Chen Keji, Zhang Lihe, Shi Xuemin, Zhang Boli, and Qiao Jie, will participate in the forum. Together with attending guests, they will share valuable insights into how the integration of Traditional Chinese and Western medicine, as well as the combined use of Chinese and Western pharmaceuticals, has contributed to the advancement of healthcare. The forum will explore the advantages of disciplinary convergence and collaborative innovation between Traditional Chinese and Western medicine, aiming to investigate frontier areas and new developmental directions for Traditional Chinese Medicine within an integrated framework, thereby providing think-tank support for the sustained progress of innovative research in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
This forum features three special parallel sub-forums: the “Forum on Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Drug Research,” the “Forum on Innovation in Diagnosis and Treatment with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,” and the “Forum on Synergistic Development of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.” These sessions will collectively address the inheritance and innovative development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), focusing on research directions and frontiers in the rapid advancement of integrated TCM and Western medicine; synergistic industrial innovation and development in China; progress and achievements in natural drug R&D; new trends and opportunities for TCM; original research outcomes arising from the integration of traditional TCM diagnostic and therapeutic thinking with modern technologies; and breakthroughs in TCM theory, clinical practice, and applications through the integration of advanced multidisciplinary technologies.
Special Exhibition on the Innovative Development of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine at Peking University Health Science Center will be held from June 12 to September 12 within the campus of Peking University Health Science Center. Centered on themes such as “The Development of Ancient Chinese Medicine,” “The Development of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Modern Times,” “The History of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diplomacy,” and “The Contemporary Development of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,” the exhibition features hundreds of exhibits, including cultural relics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), ancient manuscripts, and TCM prescriptions. It reviews the brilliant history of TCM spanning thousands of years, deeply explores the “essence” of the traditional Chinese medical treasure trove, and promotes the high-quality development of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine.
