On that day, Xie Fangmin, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Fangzhou Jianke, and Dong Minsheng, General Manager of Menarini China, jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will focus their collaboration on gastroenterology, men’s health, dermatology and allergies, and cardiovascular diseases, exploring an integrated digital healthcare service model across areas such as internet hospitals, pharmaceutical e-commerce supply chains, drug accessibility, physician education, patient education, grassroots public-benefit services, and medical big data.
With changes in lifestyle and living environments, coupled with an accelerating aging process, diseases in fields such as gastroenterology and dermatology are characterized by a broad affected population, rapid growth, low early-stage awareness, and poor medication adherence. Among these, gastrointestinal diseases have become one of the most common and frequently occurring conditions among the Chinese population.
The “2020 China Health Statistics Yearbook” released by the National Health Commission shows that the prevalence of digestive system diseases ranks fifth in the two-week prevalence rate in China, and has nearly doubled during the decade from 2008 to 2018. Taking common Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and reflux esophagitis as examples, the estimated total number of patients in China has reached as high as 768 million and 89 million, respectively. In addition, the incidence of gastrointestinal cancers remains high, mainly due to delayed detection, with more than 80% of gastric cancer patients already at an intermediate or advanced stage at the time of diagnosis. Experts indicate that if detected early, the five-year survival rate for patients can exceed 90%.
Leveraging internet technologies to enhance the accessibility of high-quality medical and health services, improve public awareness of common diseases, facilitate appropriate home-based empirical treatment, and build full-cycle health management services for users has become an inevitable trend in the transformation of the healthcare industry.
“This strategic partnership between Fangzhou Jianke and Menarini presents an excellent opportunity,” said Xie Fangmin, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Fangzhou Jianke. He stated that with the upgrading of the bilateral relationship, both parties aim to seek breakthroughs and innovations in health management, with a particular focus on the digestive system, men’s health, dermatology and allergies, and cardiovascular care.
Leveraging Fangzhou Jianke Group’s suite of services—including its internet hospital, chronic disease management platform, online prescription circulation system, home delivery of medications, and new media matrix for patient–provider education—and combining these with Menarini’s R&D and manufacturing strengths in gastroenterology, men’s health, dermatology and allergies, and cardiovascular care, the two parties will engage in deep cooperation to advance digitally innovative medical services.
Strategic Cooperation Between the Two Parties Officially Launched
By leveraging the complementary strengths of both parties, patients can easily complete the entire process of online follow-up consultations, prescription renewals, medication purchases, and health management from the comfort of their homes. Meanwhile, patients can engage in real-time interactive consultations with specialists and physicians online. Doctors can also access patients’ diagnostic and treatment data through the platform, enabling them to develop more targeted treatment plans based on changes in the patients’ conditions. This approach not only improves patients’ medication adherence but also facilitates a shift in patient management from treatment-oriented to prevention-oriented scenarios and services.
Furthermore, as China’s leading smart healthcare service platform, Fangzhou Jianke enables data integration across the entire closed-loop system, providing data support for Menarini’s drug R&D strategy. This assists Menarini in better formulating market strategies, conducting campaign and business evaluations, and establishing a truly digital disease management solution.
“In addition to integrating the full online healthcare and pharmaceutical supply chain across digestive health, men’s health, dermatology and allergies, and cardiovascular care, Ark Health will also explore and cooperate with Menarini in areas such as inventory information sharing, big data applications, and health education under the ‘Internet Plus’ framework. This aims to further advance innovation in both parties’ business collaboration models, with the goal of providing patients with comprehensive, whole-disease-course health management services,” said Xie Fangmin. He noted that Menarini is an internationally leading pharmaceutical company actively committed to delivering high-quality healthcare solutions to physicians and patients. He expressed confidence that this partnership would help establish a safe, convenient, and effective integrated service model combining “medical care + pharmaceuticals + health management,” and gradually extend this model to Menarini’s key therapeutic areas of research and development strength.

From the perspective of their collaborative strategic layout, the physician resources of Fangzhou Jianke’s internet hospital leverage the cross-temporal and spatial advantages of online diagnosis and treatment to channel high-quality medical resources down to the grassroots level, thereby actively responding to the national policy on tiered diagnosis and treatment.
On the day of the event, Maurizio Luongo, CEO of Menarini Asia-Pacific, also delivered a video address via remote connection.
He stated that as an internationally leading pharmaceutical company with a history of over 130 years, Menarini holds global leadership in research, development, and diagnostics across cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory, men’s health, medical aesthetics, and scar management. He expressed hope that this strategic partnership would leverage Fangzhou Jianke’s internet technologies to enhance drug accessibility while exploring digital health management, ultimately enabling people to lead healthier and happier lives.
Dong Minsheng, General Manager of Menarini China, stated that Menarini will leverage the internet platform advantages of Ark Health Group to enrich the integrated online-offline internet healthcare ecosystem, broaden product coverage, and explore collaborations in innovative payment methods such as online medical insurance reimbursement, thereby providing patients with a diversified service experience.

Professor Wang Hongwei, Director of the Department of Dermatology at Huadong Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, also attended the event as a special guest. He stated that with the booming development of internet hospitals, online consultations, virtual medical visits, and contactless medication delivery are gradually becoming part of people’s daily lives and may well become the norm in the future. “Currently, many hospitals and physicians are actively embracing the internet, integrating medical resources, and opening up a ‘second front’ in digital healthcare. This is essentially a strategy for survival and growth. Internet-based healthcare can benefit both doctors and patients.”

“‘Health is our commitment to life’ is Menarini’s vision, while ‘making everyone healthier’ is the mission of Fangzhou Jianke. ‘Health’ can be described as our shared value,” emphasized Xie Fangmin. Fangzhou Jianke will leverage Menarini’s professional pharmaceutical resources to create a comprehensive digital service covering the entire online and offline diagnosis and treatment process throughout the patient’s disease course. This service aims to facilitate smoother doctor-patient communication, enhance the efficiency of disease management, and make follow-up medication more convenient. Furthermore, the company is committed to promoting the standardized development of the industry and contributing to the early realization of China’s “Healthy China 2030” goal.
Founded in 2009, Fangzhou Jianke has established itself as a leading smart health service platform in China since its inception. Upholding the mission of “Making Everyone Healthier,” and leveraging years of industry expertise and internet technology advantages, Fangzhou Jianke is dedicated to advancing the development of internet hospitals. Through technological innovation, it has pioneered a new H2H (Hospital to Home) smart healthcare ecosystem. This model creates a closed-loop internet medical service system supported by Fangzhou Jianke Internet Hospital, a distributed chronic disease management center integrating terminal and cloud services, Fangzhou Media, and a nationally renowned pharmaceutical e-commerce platform. By extending medical services from within hospitals to outside settings, evolving care from “offline initial consultations” to “offline initial consultations plus online follow-ups,” and shifting the focus from “treating existing diseases” to “preventive care,” Fangzhou Jianke breaks the constraints of time and location. This enables more patients to access high-quality medical services conveniently and promptly anytime, anywhere, thoroughly addressing the challenges of difficult access to medical care and high medication costs, and ultimately realizing its vision of becoming the most trusted smart health service platform.
