Yuan Kangjian Ascends to New Heights by Organizing the Bay Channel Summit: Exploring Internet Hospital Construction and Practice
On the morning of June 11, 2021, the “Wanqu Hui: Exploring the High-Level Forum on Internet Hospital Construction and Practice” and the Inauguration Ceremony of the New Channel Empowerment Branch of the China Pharmaceutical Material Association were successfully held at the Changsha International Conference Center. The event was hosted by the New Channel Branch of the China Pharmaceutical Material Association and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and organized by Guangzhou Yuankangjian Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yuankangjian”).
This forum aims to promote the standardized, specialized, high-quality, and sustainable development of internet hospitals. Hosted by the Secretary-General of the New Channel Empowerment Branch of the China Pharmaceutical Material Association and General Manager of Guangzhou Xinjianyuan Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd., the event comprised four major segments: the establishment of a branch, sharing on ten topics, the presentation of one award, and in-depth discussions on two key issues.
In his address, Li Jinquan, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Medical Pharmaceutical Materials Association, stated that with the introduction of the Administrative Measures for the Construction of National Internet Hospitals (Trial) in 2018, internet hospitals officially gained a legal basis. Driven by the pandemic, the lifting of prescription restrictions, and venture capital support, internet hospitals have experienced robust growth. As of March 2021, more than 1,000 internet hospitals had been established across China. In 2021, with the issuance of detailed approval rules for internet hospitals in Beijing, all 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions nationwide completed the establishment of provincial-level regulatory platforms for internet healthcare, marking the entry of internet hospital construction and application into a phase of comprehensive national deployment. He extended congratulations on the official establishment of the New Channel Empowerment Branch of the China Medical Pharmaceutical Materials Association and wished the “Wanquhui·Internet Hospital Construction and Practice Summit Forum” complete success.
Lin Zhihua, President of the New Channel Branch of the China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association (CMPMA) and Chairman of Guangdong Huangtu Biotechnology Co., Ltd., stated that the New Channel Branch of CMPMA was established on July 14, 2020. It is primarily dedicated to providing comprehensive cross-sector empowerment to China’s pharmaceutical manufacturing, commercial distribution, retail, and healthcare sectors. By leveraging the platform of the New Channel Branch, it aims to build an innovative value matrix encompassing new pharmaceutical manufacturing, new circulation, new retail, new healthcare, new logistics, new information technology, new finance, and new operations. This initiative seeks to establish a new platform for industry development and better serve its members.
Li Jinquan, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association (CMPMA), read out the official approval letter for the establishment of the CMPMA New Channel Empowerment Branch. He announced that Lian Chunfu, General Manager of Shenzhen Yongxiang Pharmacy Chain Co., Ltd., was elected as President of the branch, and Chen Xin, General Manager of Guangzhou Xinjianyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was elected as Secretary-General. Mr. Li expressed his hope that the New Channel Empowerment Branch would develop distinctive features and achieve a high standard of excellence.

Tao Jianhong, Honorary President of the New Channel Branch of the China Medical Pharmaceutical Materials Association and Founder of Menet, delivered a keynote speech titled “How to Respond to the New Channel Revolution Driven by User Needs in the New Situation.” He provided an accessible and insightful overview of the domestic and international pharmaceutical landscape, authoritative big data on pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and the new channel revolution aimed at meeting user demands.
Huawei Cloud’s CTO for the Healthcare Industry, Wang Wei, presented “New Infrastructure, New Technologies, New Healthcare: Huawei’s Exploration of Digital Transformation in Primary Care during the New Infrastructure Era.” In the digital healthcare sector, robust foundational technical support is critical. Jin Song, Executive President of the “Three-Medical Linkage” Health Security Branch of the Chinese Society for Health Information and Big Data in Healthcare, and President of the Shenzhen Health Care Association, delivered a keynote speech titled “Internet Hospitals + Insurance (Public Medical Insurance + Commercial Insurance): Driving the Prosperity of the Greater Health Industry.” She pointed out that traditional public hospitals address offline disease treatment needs, while internet hospitals handle online follow-up consultations for chronic diseases. Public medical insurance covers basic healthcare for the entire population, whereas commercial insurance addresses hospital services for mid-to-high-end consumers. Internet hospitals and commercial insurance can achieve strong synergistic development.

Shi Xiaomao, Director of the Department of Geriatrics and Dean of the Internet Hospital at Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital, delivered a keynote speech titled “Building an Internet Hospital to Promote High-Quality Hospital Development.” She stated that her in-depth study of policies related to internet hospitals, combined with practical experience at Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital, has given her full confidence in how internet hospitals can drive high-quality development in healthcare institutions.
Zhou Pengpeng, Founder and CEO of Weizan Live, delivered a keynote speech titled “Live Streaming Empowerment: New Thinking for Internet Hospitals in the Private Domain Era.” He proposed that internet hospitals will serve as a critical traffic gateway for future healthcare. Based on this insight, he urged internet hospitals to recognize the powerful role of live streaming in disseminating medical popular science and building influencer physicians, and presented a comprehensive solution.

As an emerging industry, internet hospitals require further exploration.
