Shi Doctor (Shanghai) Digital Technology Co., Ltd. is a technology-driven startup dedicated to advancing surgical follow-up management and serving both physicians and patients. Leveraging the Shi Doctor Intelligent Surgical Follow-up Platform and the Shi Doctor Internet Hospital, the company initially focuses on urologists and andrologists, providing them with personalized patient management tools and one-on-one follow-up assistant services to facilitate efficient patient management. The company provides a platform for surgical follow-up care, expands the out-of-hospital medical services market, and drives the digital promotion and sales of specialized pharmaceuticals and medical devices, featuring a clear revenue model.
Tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor, is one of the mainstream products on the market for treating erectile dysfunction (ED), alongside sildenafil (Viagra) and vardenafil. It was approved for marketing in China in 2005. In the Chinese market, tadalafil has consistently underperformed compared to sildenafil; however, from a global perspective, tadalafil’s sales have far surpassed those of its competitors. In 2019, tadalafil tablets (5 mg) were approved in China for a new indication: the treatment of erectile dysfunction comorbid with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This new indication will benefit a large number of patients with BPH and further broaden the market prospects for tadalafil tablets. Notably, tadalafil 5 mg tablets are the only PDE5 inhibitor approved for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in patients with BPH.
In early 2021, Dr. Shi, in collaboration with Luoxin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., launched the 5mg Dr. Shi® Tadalafil Tablets. In June 2020, a grand product launch event for Dr. Shi® Tadalafil Tablets was held during the Shanghai Gongji Urology Forum and the Yangtze River Delta Urology Alliance Academic Conference.
The launch event of Shiyisheng® Tadalafil Tablets was honored to have Professor Zhang Xu, Director of the Department of Urology at the Chinese PLA General Hospital and President-Elect of the Urology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and Professor Ma Lulin, Director of the Department of Urology at Peking University Third Hospital and Standing Committee Member of the Urology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, serve as conference moderators.

At the launch event, specially invited speaker Professor Xia Shujie, former Vice President of Shanghai General Hospital, Vice President of the Urology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, President of the Andrology and Sexual Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the National Medical Journal of China, shared insights with attending experts on “Exploring New Strategies for the Treatment of BPH/LUTS with ED as an Entry Point.” Professor Xia pointed out that the European Association of Urology guidelines for the treatment of LUTS (lower urinary tract symptoms), from the 2013 to the 2021 editions, have consistently recommended tadalafil 5 mg for the treatment of LUTS. Relevant clinical data have confirmed that the tadalafil 5 mg regimen is comparable to tamsulosin in alleviating LUTS, while significantly improving ED symptoms and achieving higher patient satisfaction. Furthermore, the combination of tadalafil 5 mg and finasteride can simultaneously improve both LUTS and ED symptoms in patients. In his conference summary, Professor Zhang Xu stated, “Tadalafil tablets not only treat LUTS in patients with BPH but also significantly improve ED symptoms, offering a dual benefit. The launch of Shi Yisheng® Tadalafil Tablets provides urologists with a better and superior option for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, particularly middle-aged and elderly patients who still have varying degrees of sexual needs.”

The launch event for the new product, Dr. Shi® Tadalafil Tablets, was also honored by the participation of Professor Zheng Junhua and Professor Niu Yuanjie in the inauguration ceremony. Professor Zheng serves as the leader and general party branch secretary of Shanghai’s first medical aid team to Hubei, party secretary of Renji Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Urology under the Chinese Medical Association. Professor Niu is the president of the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University and a standing committee member of the Chinese Society of Urology under the Chinese Medical Association.
Finally, witnessed by urology experts and colleagues, Dong Zeqiu, General Manager of Shi Yisheng Company, and top authoritative experts in the field of Chinese urology jointly announced the official launch of Shi Yisheng® Tadalafil Tablets!
