Precision medicine refers to the classification of individual patients based on differences in the etiologies of their diseases and their varying responses to specific therapeutic interventions, thereby enabling the formulation of more targeted treatment strategies. Compared with the traditional “one-size-fits-all” approach, precision medicine is becoming a primary treatment modality across major disease areas due to its superior therapeutic efficacy, with particularly widespread application in oncology.
This is already fully reflected in overseas markets. According to CIC data, in 2019, targeted therapy and immunotherapy, as important means of precision medicine, accounted for 85.6% of cancer treatment in the United States. In addition, important application scenarios of precision medicine such as "early cancer screening and prognosis management" are also booming.
Compared with developed countries overseas, China’s precision medicine sector started relatively late. According to CIC data, chemotherapy accounted for 73.3% of cancer treatment in China in 2019. Meanwhile, fields such as “early cancer screening” and “prognosis management” are still in their early stages of development. Behind this significant gap lies substantial growth potential. It is easy to foresee that precision medicine will become a key component of China’s national health strategy, leading a new round of industrial transformation.
Golden Oak Medicine is a leading enterprise in the field of precision oncology in China. Headquartered in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, Golden Oak Medicine operates testing and R&D centers in Beijing and Tianjin with a total area of 5,000 square meters. More than 80% of its professional technical staff hold master’s or doctoral degrees. Since its establishment in 2018, Golden Oak Medicine has focused on the development of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, providing clinical solutions for precision cancer care centered on genomics through its self-developed big data analysis platform for genetic information. As one of the few NGS medical service companies with leading capabilities in both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, Golden Oak Medicine has established unique brand advantages in lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, urological cancers, and hematologic malignancies. To date, the company has launched more than 30 testing products covering early diagnosis and screening for multiple cancer types, hereditary risk assessment, companion diagnostics for targeted and immunotherapies, tumor diagnostic subtyping, prognostic evaluation, and dynamic monitoring. Its services have been widely recognized by numerous clinical and laboratory experts in oncology and currently serve over 500 hospitals.
As a global giant, Roche Diagnostics has long been established in China. As early as August 2000, Roche Diagnostics Products (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was founded as a wholly foreign-owned enterprise in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Shanghai to conduct business in mainland China. Since its inception, Roche Diagnostics has experienced continuous growth and expansion, becoming one of the leaders in China’s in vitro diagnostics market. Its sales and service network covers the entire country, with a presence in 77 cities across China.
As the collaboration between the two parties unfolds, Roche Diagnostics’ robust commercialization capabilities will undoubtedly benefit Jinxiang Medical, further solidifying their leading positions within the industry.
On one hand, the collaboration between Jinxiang Medicine and Roche Diagnostics will create significant synergistic advantages at the R&D level. As a global giant, Roche Diagnostics boasts undeniable R&D strength, with its current product portfolio covering the entire spectrum of oncology care, including early detection, prevention, diagnosis, and prognosis monitoring. Moreover, the Roche Group is the only innovation leader in the healthcare industry that encompasses both diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. This integration enables Roche Diagnostics to leverage breakthrough disease insights to develop innovative products for disease detection and monitoring, thereby guiding treatment decisions.
Mr. Yuan Jianzhong, Vice President of Roche Diagnostics China and Head of the Life Science Division, stated, “Roche Diagnostics has always adhered to the philosophy of ‘acting in the best interests of patients first.’ We are committed to continuous innovation and dedicated to developing and providing diagnostic technologies and solutions that span early detection, prevention, diagnosis, and monitoring of diseases. With the establishment of this strategic partnership, Roche Diagnostics will collaborate with Jinxiang Medicine to jointly explore the development, application, and commercialization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) solutions for products in fields such as solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. This collaboration aims to promote the translation and innovative development of precision medicine in China, thereby benefiting more Chinese patients.”

On the other hand, through its collaboration with Roche Diagnostics, Jinxiang Medicine’s commercialization capabilities will be significantly enhanced. It is easy to foresee that, as its R&D and commercialization capabilities continue to improve, Jinxiang Medicine will maintain its leading position in China’s precision oncology sector.
Lou Feng, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Golden Oak Medical: “As a leading NGS medical service company in the industry, Golden Oak Medical has always been committed to providing customers with high-standard testing products. The strategic partnership between Golden Oak Medical and Roche Diagnostics will further enhance product quality to meet the rigorous standards of clinical laboratory testing, thereby delivering high-quality testing services to clinicians and patients. Meanwhile, future collaboration between the two parties will focus on the development of IVD kits based on NGS methods and the application of high-quality raw materials, continuously improving the performance of clinical tests. This will drive the field of precision oncology in China toward higher standards of development, bringing benefits to more patients.”
