2021 CHIMA 'Digital-Intelligent Symbiosis, Co-Creating the Future' Smart Health Digital Development Forum Held in Qingdao, Experts Focus on the Future of Smart Healthcare

Jul 30, 2021 12:17 CST Updated 12:17

At this moment, the digital construction of smart healthcare is entering a brand-new phase.

Driven by a confluence of factors—including policy incentives, technological iterations, market evolution, and the impact of the pandemic—the healthcare industry is embracing the digital world with unprecedented momentum, as digital technologies reshape its future.

From a global perspective, the digital transformation of the healthcare industry is deepening and approaching a critical breakthrough period. Major powers are racing toward the technological frontier; for instance, the United States released the "U.S. Federal Health IT Strategic Plan" last year, and the United Kingdom issued the "UK Digital Policy 2020," all striving to seize the initiative in this round of technological competition.

China has also continued to exert strong momentum in this wave of digitalization. With the support of new-generation information technologies, the integration of cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile internet, and artificial intelligence (AI)—often referred to as “cloud, big data, IoT, mobile, and AI”—has been deeply applied in the healthcare sector, laying a solid foundation for the advent of the digital era. In terms of policy, the state has made strategic deployments for “Healthy China” and “Digital China” in the latest 14th Five-Year Plan and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, providing clear direction and guarantees for the development of smart health digital infrastructure. According to statistics, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of China’s smart healthcare market was 28.3% from 2015 to 2019, and the market size is projected to exceed RMB 500 billion by 2025.

In the face of multiple favorable conditions, including technological support, policy incentives, and a vast market, there is a need for a high-profile, focused industry forum. This serves not only as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and advocacy among ecosystem stakeholders but also as a special invitation to attract more participants into the ecosystem.
