Developer of Natural Fully Human Monoclonal Antibody New Drugs
VCBeat learned at the earliest opportunity,Zhuhai Trinomab Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Trinomab”) announced the completion of its Series A+ financing round, raising nearly RMB 700 million.This round of financing was jointly completed by CMB International, Shangxin Capital, CICC Capital Qide Fund, Sunshine Ronghui, Guozhong Capital, Superstring Capital, and Tianhui Capital.
The proceeds from this round of financing will be used to further industrialize the company’s pipeline of novel natural fully human antibody drugs.Specifically including:
1) International Multicenter Clinical Trial of the Fully Human Anti-Tetanus Toxin Monoclonal Antibody Drug [TNM002];
2) International Multicenter Clinical Trial of the Fully Human Anti-Respiratory Syncytial Virus Monoclonal Antibody Drug [TNM001];
3) IND applications in China and the US, and subsequent clinical studies, for multiple fully human antibody new drug candidates in the preclinical stage;
4) Construction of Phase II facilities for the fully human antibody drug production base, etc.
Trinomab, founded in 2015, is a global, clinical-stage innovative biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the research and development ofOriginal Fully Human Monoclonal Antibody Novel Drugas its core business. The company’s core technology is the fourth-generation antibody technology, “Integrated Technology Platform for Natural Fully Human Monoclonal Antibody Development (HitmAb)”®)”. Since its inception, Trinomab has remained dedicated to developing novel, fully human monoclonal antibody drugs with independent intellectual property rights, high differentiation, and high efficacy, aiming to enhance the prevention and treatment outcomes for infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, malignant tumors, and other conditions.
Antibody drugs developed through traditional technologies often face challenges related to anti-drug antibody (ADA) responses caused by immunogenicity, whereas novel natural fully human monoclonal antibodies can minimize or even avoid this issue.Trinomab's HitmAb®Monoclonal antibodies isolated from the technical platform are natural, fully human monoclonal antibodies that have matured under the selective pressure of the human immune tolerance environment. This approach maximizes the avoidance of endogenous immunogenicity in antibody drugs, addresses the challenge of anti-drug antibody (ADA) responses in clinical applications, and thereby significantly reduces R&D and investment risks.
Furthermore, HitmAb®The technology platform also effectively circumvents the time-consuming, labor-intensive, and lengthy processes associated with traditional antibody expression, such as cloning and vector construction. It enables “high-throughput,” “high-efficiency,” and “operability,” allowing for the isolation of target antibodies within as little as 7–10 days. Furthermore, this platform is open and scalable.

Currently, Trinomab’s multiple fully human monoclonal antibody new products are undergoing rapid commercialization, with some having entered clinical trial stages.Among these, the recombinant natural fully human monoclonal antibody against tetanus toxin, TNM002, initiated Phase I clinical trials in Australia in November 2020 and has recently received Investigational New Drug (IND) approvals from both China and the United States. The injection of TNM001, a recombinant fully human monoclonal antibody against respiratory syncytial virus, was approved for IND by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) this July and is expected to formally commence Phase I clinical trials in September this year. Additionally, the company’s natural fully human monoclonal antibodies against human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), nerve growth factor (NGF), and varicella-zoster virus (VZV) are scheduled to submit IND applications sequentially in 2022.
As Trinomab rapidly advances its product pipeline, the company continues to attract top talent to support its growth.Recently, Trinomab has consecutively appointed two industry veterans with extensive domestic and international clinical research experience as its Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Clinical Development, respectively. Moving forward, Trinomab’s clinical team will continue to efficiently advance the clinical trials of its monoclonal antibody products, leveraging optimized clinical development strategies and risk control management to strategize the global rollout of its product portfolio.
“Trinomab has focused on applying its proprietary HitmAb technology since its establishment®Technology Platform (Figure 1): Development of Novel Natural Fully Human Antibody Drugs. Initially aiming to replace animal- and human serum-derived products, we are developing novel monoclonal antibody drugs against infectious diseases that pose significant threats to infant and child health, as well as other antibody therapeutics addressing unmet clinical needs. In the future, we will continue to optimize HitmAb®technical platform, we continue to enrich our product pipeline (Figure 2), advancing antibody candidates with strong druggability potential into clinical development and commercialization, thereby benefiting a broad patient population.”Dr. Liao Huaxin, Co-founder & Chairman & CTO of Trinomabindicates.
