25 Companies Honored in the 2021 VB100 Digital Healthcare Excellence Awards Amid IPO Filings
The digital wave is sweeping across the landscape, driving deep integration between information technology and the healthcare industry. Technologies such as AI, 5G, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are flourishing across various specialized sectors of healthcare.
Prior to 2010, the digital health industry was still in its exploratory phase. From the emergence of the mobile health concept to the explosive growth of the digital health sector, and subsequently as traditional hospitals rapidly transformed into internet hospitals, digital health entered a new period of expansion. Favorable policies have been accelerating its development. VCBeat VB100 has been closely monitoring the transformative impact of digitalization on the healthcare industry.Through the call for outstanding collaborative case studies in digital health, this initiative aims to identify a cohort of exemplary partnership cases across various subsectors of digital health that demonstrate technological advancement and prominent demonstrative effects, thereby providing an in-depth analysis of the current state of digital innovation in China’s healthcare industry and exploring future models of innovation.On June 20, 2021, the “Seeking Digital Health Pioneers” campaign to solicit outstanding collaboration case studies in digital healthcare was launched.
The call for case studies primarily targets enterprises in the technology-driven healthcare sector, focusing on those that leverage digital innovations—such as the internet, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G—to empower the digital transformation of medical processes, build hospital information systems, upgrade medical equipment digitally, improve business processes for healthcare companies, and enhance their products and services.
VB100 categorizes the implementation scenarios of products or services offered by participating companies into in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Based on this framework, applicant companies are divided into three sectors: “Smart Hospitals,” “Health Management,” and “Innovation Ecosystem.”The evaluation criteria are based on three dimensions: product/service introduction, case innovation, and case effectiveness.Select outstanding collaboration cases from among them.
From June 20 to August 13, the process spanned nearly two months—from call for entries to evaluation—culminating in the final announcement of the list.
