Macrocyclic Peptide Drug Development: Transitioning from Traditional Empirical Screening to an "AI Prediction + High-Throughput Experimental Validation" Molecular Design System. The core technological approach of Syneron Bio is centered around this transformation: on one hand, the company focuses on the development of novel macrocyclic peptide drugs, establishing a platform centered on Synova™; on the other hand, it integrates protein structure prediction, protein-protein interaction prediction, protein-peptide affinity prediction, and a synthetic peptide experimental platform to form a "dry-wet closed-loop" R&D model. The underlying rationale is that macrocyclic peptides combine some advantages of small molecules and antibodies, offering the potential for enhanced target selectivity and binding affinity while also addressing challenging target spaces that traditional drugs have struggled to cover. With advancements in structural prediction tools like AlphaFold2 improving the availability of target structures, the development of such drugs is no longer purely reliant on "massive trial and error," but is entering a phase of being computable, optimizable, and iterative.

Syneron Bio, a leading enterprise in macrocyclic peptide drug development driven by an intelligent platform, announced todayCompleted Series B financing.GL Ventures, which invested in the company's Series A round in 2024, continued its support in this round. This round of financing was led by an international biotechnology fund, with Decheng Capital and CDH VGC jointly leading the investment. Other investors included a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Temasek’s independent wholly-owned subsidiary, Temasek Ming Capital, Qiming Venture Partners, BioTrack Capital, and well-known industry investment institutions. Additionally, existing shareholders such as AstraZeneca, Lilly Asia Ventures, Innovation Works, Morningside Ventures, Biotech Development Fund, and Legend Capital also continued their support.

The funds raised in this round will be mainly used to further the intelligent iteration of the company's self-developed macrocycle peptide discovery platform, Synova™, and to fully accelerate the translation of its diversified innovative drug pipeline into clinical stages.

Dr. Zhang Xiao, founder and CEO of the company, said:"We are highly honored to have received support and recognition from a series of top global healthcare investment funds, technology venture capital funds, multinational corporations, and leading sovereign funds in this round of financing. The completion of this financing will further strengthen the company’s financial reserves, enabling us to accelerate the development of multiple core pipelines in the fields of oncology, autoimmune diseases, metabolic disorders, and rare diseases, benefiting patients worldwide. Meanwhile, the company's high-throughput intelligent-driven SynovaTM platform will also be upgraded and expanded, significantly improving the efficiency and success rate of cyclic peptide drug research and development. With the joint support of capital and industry partners, we look forward to continuously delivering innovative therapies to patients globally and addressing significant unmet clinical needs."
