Call to Action: China Alliance of Neurointerventional Innovation and Transformation (CNIT) Invites You to Join

Sep 02, 2021 14:00 CST Updated 14:00

Innovation is the soul of progress in an era and the driving force behind societal advancement. As one of the key focal points for realizing “Created in China,” medical innovation serves as the fundamental engine safeguarding the development of China’s healthcare and health services.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, national policies promoting and encouraging medical innovation have become increasingly clear, with continuous emergence of innovative practices in the medical field. The neurointerventional sector has emerged as a new hotspot for medical innovation and industrial development. Data shows that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the neurointerventional device industry reached 29.7% from 2015 to 2018, and its market size is projected to exceed RMB 30 billion by 2025. Meanwhile, foreign companies hold a high share of the neurointerventional device market, with the localization rate remaining below 20%, indicating substantial room for innovation-driven growth among domestic enterprises.

The journey of innovative products from concept to realization hinges on the close collaboration among key stakeholders in medical innovation, including healthcare institutions, medical enterprises, research institutes, and investment firms, as well as the effective integration of critical innovation elements such as capital, talent, and infrastructure. How to mobilize these stakeholders and resources within China’s neurointerventional field to accelerate the translation of innovative achievements has become an urgent challenge that the industry must address.

To this end, Professor Zhang Hongqi, Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, initiated the establishment of the China Neurointerventional Innovation and Translation Alliance (CNIT) in collaboration with various medical innovation entities. The Alliance will focus on seven key areas: innovative training, innovation competitions, innovation summits, innovation dissemination, innovation incubation, innovation validation, and mechanism exploration. By improving the dual pathways for project incubation and innovative product validation, the Alliance aims to gradually build an ecosystem that fosters an innovative atmosphere, identifies innovative projects, establishes project incubation platforms, and ultimately achieves industrial implementation, thereby driving the innovative development of the neurointerventional discipline.

Today, to further gather high-quality resources in the field of medical innovation and facilitate efficient connections between outstanding innovative projects and key stakeholders such as capital providers, intermediaries, and industry players, CNIT is now recruiting member units and partners. We sincerely invite you to join us.
