On October 10, the Animal Experiment Center of the Innovation Engineering Center under the China Cardiovascular Doctors Innovation Club (CCI), spearheaded by Academician Ge Junbo of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Department of Cardiology at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, was officially established in Jiading, Shanghai. The newly launched CCI Hemodynamics Medical-Engineering Joint Laboratory was also unveiled during the ceremony. Dr. Ma Jun, Chief Technology Officer of Shenzhen Raytelligence Intelligent Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Raytelligence”), attended the unveiling ceremony. It is reported that Raytelligence and Hangzhou PulseFlow Technology will collaborate with CCI to aggregate more medical-engineering resources in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence, thereby promoting innovative translation in precision medicine.

The establishment of the Animal Experiment Center under the CCI Innovation Engineering Center marks the opening of a critical pathway from concept to product for innovative medical devices, facilitating the translation and implementation of independently developed domestic medical device innovation projects, completing the systematic layout of the entire innovation translation chain, and constructing an innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Shen Yi, Head of the CCI Animal Experiment Center and General Manager of Xinuo Medical Research, introduced that the newly established Innovation Engineering Center/Animal Experiment Center is equipped with two catheterization labs, two surgical operating rooms, and two testing laboratories, along with advanced detection equipment. This infrastructure enables the proof-of-concept validation of innovative ideas and the production of prototypes. During animal experiments, medical-engineering collaboration facilitates the continuous improvement and iterative innovation of medical devices, thereby enhancing their practical utility and commercial value.
In the realm of medical device innovation, the Animal Experimentation Center and innovative engineering play a pivotal role. Without animal validation, transitioning innovative products to clinical application would be exceedingly difficult. At the inauguration ceremony, Academician Ge Junbo emphasized that the newly established Animal Experimentation Center would not be limited to preclinical animal studies of cardiovascular medical devices; it would also establish joint laboratories in multiple fields, such as fluid dynamics and materials science, ultimately building a world-class platform.
Leveraging its extensive experience in intelligent cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment, as well as the R&D advantages of its core team technologies, RayHeart Medical will provide in-depth support for the cardiovascular research conducted by the Med-Engineering Joint Laboratory at the CCI Animal Experiment Center.
Among domestic medical device companies, RuiXin Medical has demonstrated outstanding performance in both technological innovation and product commercialization. In April this year, its innovative product, the “Non-invasive Coronary Hemodynamic Assessment Platform—RuiXin-FFR,” received Class III medical device registration approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), officially qualifying it for market launch.
