On October 18, 2021, the launch ceremony for Boke City’s digital therapeutics strategy, along with the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation on digital therapeutics between Boke City and Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, was held in Shanghai. Jin Lingjing, President of Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, and Li Jing, Co-founder and CTO of Boke City, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. Leveraging Boke City’s advanced game development concepts and technologies, combined with the clinical medicine and scientific research strengths of Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, both parties will establish in-depth collaboration in areas such as “game-based diagnosis, game-based treatment, patient assistance through games, and medical support via games,” jointly exploring gamified digital therapeutics.
At the meeting, President Jin Lingjing stated that Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital, affiliated with Tongji University, is Shanghai’s first public rehabilitation hospital and the first university-affiliated rehabilitation hospital. It has attracted significant public attention and shouldered substantial social responsibilities. The hospital will establish a strategic institutional-enterprise partnership with Poki City, leveraging digital health technology collaboration as a bridge to actively promote standardized, high-quality, and homogeneous modern rehabilitation medical services.
Li Jing introduced the gamified digital therapeutics project previously undertaken by both parties, titled “Customized Linked Memory Game.” This project primarily targets individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), reshaping traditional training programs through gamification to enhance adherence. It aims to improve various cognitive functions across multiple dimensions and slow down or delay the progression from MCI to Alzheimer’s disease. One of the most important features of this product is customization, which seeks to authentically replicate the daily life scenarios of older adults to better address practical issues associated with aging. The project has currently entered the clinical trial phase. Li Jing stated that Poki City has established a dedicated project team for its strategic collaboration on “Games + Health,” demonstrating the company’s commitment and determination to deeply explore this field. Poki City will work together with Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University to promote technological innovation and talent development, leveraging complementary strengths to achieve mutual benefits and create new achievements in the field of digital healthcare.
During the seminar session, Chen Hang, Digital Therapeutics Advisor at Poki City; Ying Li, Vice President of Weimai Technology Co., Ltd.; and Qi Qi, Director of the Rehabilitation Therapy Department and Chief Therapist at Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University, delivered keynote speeches respectively.
