Relying on Top-tier Platforms, Building a Transformation High Ground

Since its establishment in 1907, Ruijin Hospital has always adhered to the motto of "Broad-minded Benevolence, Pursuit of Excellence," upholding its original aspiration for innovation throughout a century of development. From medical explorations during the Guangci Hospital era to now leading the national large-scale scientific facilities for translational medicine, the hospital boasts abundant clinical resources, top-notch research teams, and comprehensive translational platforms, forming a complete chain from identifying clinical issues, conducting basic research, to validating through clinical trials.

With the strong support of Huangpu District, the Guangci-Sinan Medical Innovation Park has formed a strong innovation ecosystem. The park not only gathers top clinical resources but also witnesses the birth of many innovative achievements. For example, the diffuse large B-cell lymphoma detection kit by Professor Zhao Weili from the hematology department assists in the diagnosis and screening of complex cases, and the fully automatic eye sign measuring instrument by Director Wang Weiqing from the endocrinology department enables millimeter-level measurement of key indicators for thyroid eye disease. Many outstanding achievements have moved from patents to clinical applications, ultimately serving patients. These "golden ideas" from the clinical front line constitute the most precious source of medical device innovation, providing a foundation for the integration of medical and engineering expertise.A solid foundation.

Powerful Collaboration to Build a Closed-Loop Industry

Academician Ning Guang, President of Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai, emphasized in his speech that the source of medical innovation lies in clinical practice, and the value of its outcomes is in transformation. He stressed the need to make doctors the "chain leaders" of innovation, building a bridge that seamlessly connects clinical needs with industrial capabilities, allowing doctors' inspirations to be realized and companies' strengths to be effectively utilized. This will truly establish a full-chain innovation and transformation platform from clinical ideas to medical products.

WEGO Group Chairman Chen Lin stated in his speech that this cooperation is WEGO's active response toHuangpu District, ShanghaiFostering the "Life Health Industry Around Hospitals" Plan: A Strategic Fit. He emphasized that this marks a transformative shift in WEGO's development model towards "market ecosystem leadership." The group will leverage its best resources to create innovative spaces, injecting new momentum into building a world-class enterprise.

8 Major Projects Signed, Direct HitClinical Pain Points

At the ceremony, WEGO Group signed a transformation intention agreement with an 8-member expert team from the orthopedics, general surgery, and thoracic surgery departments of Ruijin Hospital. Eight projects originating from the clinical frontline were involved.Start

Intraosseous Infusion System R&D and Commercialization Project: Led by Yu Pei's orthopedics team, this project develops an intraosseous infusion system for emergency scenarios where intravenous access cannot be established, providing a rapid, safe, and reliable alternative vascular access.

Flexible Bone Glue Conversion Project:ByCui Wenguo's Team from the Orthopedic Research InstituteLead the development of flexible bone glue to address the physical limitations of traditional bone fixation technologies, achieving bioaffinity topological fixation of micro-bone fragments in wet environments and reconstructing skeletal mechanical continuity.

Bionic, Minimally Invasive, and Intelligent Development and Transformation Project for Shoulder Joint Replacement: Led by the orthopedic team of Wang Lei, based on Chinese patient bone anatomical data and clinical techniques, developing intelligent auxiliary measurement,RobotComprehensive solutions including auxiliary procedures and rapid positioning tools.

Ruiyu - Minimally Invasive Debridement System: Composed ofBurns, Plastic Surgery and Wound Repair DepartmentLiuLed by the Yan team, an electric dermabrader with a split-unit design, integrated irrigation-suction functionality, and anti-splash protection was developed to address the challenges of burn wound management, offering an alternative to traditional surgical debridement with a scalpel.

Frontier Technology Medical-Engineering Transformation Project in Minimally Invasive Surgery: Led by Zheng Minhua's team from the Department of General Surgery, this project focuses on key technological bottlenecks in minimally invasive surgical diagnosis and treatment, developing intelligent minimally invasive instruments and consumables, and establishing a full-chain innovation system from basic research to clinical transformation.

Perioperative Medical-Engineering Innovation Transformation Project for Pancreatic Diseases: Led by the team of Shen Baiyong from the Department of Pancreatic Surgery, this project focuses on the diagnostic and treatment needs during the perioperative period of pancreatic diseases. It aims to develop implementable diagnosis and treatment plans and outcomes, establishing a complete chain from technology development, prototype verification to clinical application and industrialization.

Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Chest Diseases: Med-Engineering Integration and Transformation Project: Led by Li Hecheng's team from the Department of Thoracic Surgery, this project focuses on chest diseases, developing minimally invasive and intelligent diagnostic and treatment tools and systems to promote precision, intelligence, and leapfrog development in the diagnosis and treatment of chest diseases.

Operating Room Medical-Engineering Cross-Disciplinary Transformation Project: Led by Wang Xiaoning's team from the Nursing Department, this project focuses on the entire process of operating room procedures. It integrates multidisciplinary technologies such as medicine, materials science, and biosensing to construct an innovative model of "Demonstration R&D in Operating Room Scenarios + Multidisciplinary Collaborative Research + Rapid Clinical Validation and Iteration."
