Huarong Pharmaceutical Celebrates 50th Anniversary, Unveils New Strategic Vision and Files IPO Prospectus

On November 9, 2021, Guangxi Huahong Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. celebrated its 50th anniversary with a series of commemorative events. At the subsequent “Forum on Future Health Industry Trends,” the company unveiled its new strategic direction. Huahong Pharmaceutical is a national key enterprise in traditional Chinese medicine, integrating herbal material bases, scientific research, production, and sales. Guided by a spirit of gratitude, Huahong invited numerous long-serving employees and close partners who have accompanied the company throughout its journey to a night cruise along the Baili Liujiang River on the eve of its anniversary celebration, where they jointly discussed a shared vision for a bright future.

On the morning of the anniversary celebration, the inaugural “Xiaozhong Zhitong Ding Cup Charity Fun Run” and the Huahong 50th Anniversary Charity Run, themed “Walking with Love, Building a New Milestone in Public Welfare,” kicked off. Huahong fully supports healthy lifestyles and fitness concepts. To convey this philosophy to a broader audience, the company invited over one hundred participants to complete a 5-kilometer fun run, emphasizing health over competition, thereby jointly engaging in charitable public welfare activities. For each participant who completed the 5-kilometer course, the organizer, Huahong Pharmaceutical, donated medicines worth RMB 1,000 to Tibet and Tibetan-inhabited prefectures and counties in four provinces. All donated medicines will be used exclusively to improve medical and healthcare conditions in high-altitude Tibetan areas and enhance the health standards of the local population.

In the afternoon, the “Envisioning the Future: Health Industry Trends Forum,” hosted by Huahong Pharmaceutical, was held at Liuzhou Lianhua Villa. This boundary-breaking forum, jointly initiated by Huahong Pharmaceutical and the Guangxi Branch of the CEIBS Alumni Association for the pharmaceutical and health sector, aims to gain insights into the development trends of China’s health cause and explore the future direction of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry. The theme of this year’s forum is “Born from Love: Expanding New Frontiers in Health Thinking.”

Mr. Zhang Wenzhou, former Deputy Director of the China Food and Drug Administration; Mr. Wu Bin, former Executive Vice President of the China Pharmaceutical Commerce Association; and Mr. Duan Jidong, Vice President of the China Pharmaceutical Enterprise Management Association, among other leaders, attended the event and delivered speeches. They provided guiding insights for the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the broader health industry, and highly commended TCM enterprises for their courage in pioneering a new era. Additionally, Mr. Xiao Wei, Dean of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Southern Medical University, participated via video link to elaborate on the objectives, significance, and outcomes of the joint research project established with Huahong Pharmaceutical.

Ms. Li Yingren, Vice President of Huahong Pharmaceutical Group; Mr. Li Datao, Founder of VCBeat; Ms. Lan Qing, Co-founder of XiaoYaoYao; and Ms. Du Yanjing, Co-founder of Chengshihui engaged in an in-depth discussion on innovation and pioneering thoughts in the healthcare sector in the post-pandemic era, jointly exploring the boundless possibilities for the health industry against the backdrop of China’s rapid development.

At the conclusion of the forum, Ms. Wei Feiyan, Chairwoman of Huahong Pharmaceutical, summarized the core themes of the event in her keynote address titled “Born from Love: Huahong’s New Journey.” She also unveiled Huahong’s future corporate culture and strategic development roadmap to industry peers and business partners. In her remarks, she noted that after 50 years of diligent governance and growth, Huahong now stands at a new starting point. At the subsequent Huahong 50th Anniversary “Love as the Pen, Co-writing a New Chapter for 50 Years” Charity Gala, Huahong Pharmaceutical translated its gratitude toward consumers, the industry, clients, and society into concrete actions. Chairman Wei Feiyan donated the Olympic torch he carried during the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay, and personally invited calligraphers to create works on-site for inclusion in the charity auction. Meanwhile, Huahong Pharmaceutical officially announced the launch of the Huahong Pharmaceutical Group’s “Little Red Flower Public Welfare Initiative.” This charity platform, established and led by Huahong, calls on more outstanding public welfare projects and compassionate individuals to join forces in pooling and spreading love. As part of this “Little Red Flower Public Welfare Initiative,” Huahong Pharmaceutical has taken the lead in announcing collaborations on the following six public welfare projects:

From 2021 to 2024, Huahong will partner with the Liuzhou Charity Federation to launch the “Bauhinia Health · Huahong for Love” public welfare project in Rongshui County and Sanjiang County. Over a three-year period, a total of RMB 361,400 will be donated to strengthen the prevention of diseases in women and promote women’s health.

Hua Hong Pharmaceutical, in partnership with the Guangxi Branch of the CEIBS Alumni Association, continues to jointly implement the 10-year educational assistance program for Hua Hong Zhiliao Primary School. Between 2022 and 2032, Hua Hong Pharmaceutical will donate RMB 500,000 to Hua Hong Zhiliao Primary School in Rongshui, Liuzhou, to address practical difficulties faced by its teachers and students. By establishing a multi-tiered scholarship and incentive mechanism, with substantial awards for students admitted to universities, the initiative aims to continuously stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning and help them embark on a path toward sustainable poverty alleviation through self-reliance.

Huahong Pharmaceutical, in partnership with the China Disabled Persons’ Welfare Foundation, donated RMB 1.2 million to establish “Jishan·Huahong Pharmaceutical Cerebral Palsy Children’s Rehabilitation Therapy Rooms” in six cities, providing free rehabilitation training for children with cerebral palsy.

From 2021 to 2025, Huahong Pharmaceutical will donate its pharmaceutical products for five consecutive years to Tibet and Tibetan-inhabited prefectures and counties in four provinces, aiming to improve medical and healthcare conditions in high-altitude Tibetan areas, with a total donation value of RMB 2.5 million.

The charity auction and sale held at the gala raised a total of RMB 140,500 in donations, all of which will be used to support disadvantaged children aided by the Aiyou Ansheng Public Welfare Project. Huahong Pharmaceutical will donate sanitary pads with a market value of RMB 456,000 to the Aiyou Ansheng Public Welfare Project from 2021 to 2022. These supplies will benefit 1,530 adolescent girls in Chengduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, helping them improve their menstrual hygiene conditions.

Huahong Pharmaceutical will invest RMB 2.5 million over five years to partner with China Women’s Magazine in joining the “China Women: Experts Are Here” lecture series, jointly establishing a women’s health education team. By regularly inviting experts and scholars in the health field to conduct outreach in rural areas and communities, the initiative aims to disseminate health knowledge to grassroots women and families, thereby enhancing the health literacy of women at large.

The day’s celebration raised a total of RMB 7.6579 million in charitable donations for six charity projects. Love is intangible, yet its traces left by time are visible and palpable to all.
