Medical Device R&D Manufacturer
Multiplex testing is a development trend in the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry. By using a single instrument and one blood sample to detect multiple analytes, this approach offers lower costs, faster turnaround times, simpler operation, and improved patient care, making it highly favored in clinical practice.
In the field of hematology analysis, the application of combined testing products is very common. Combined complete blood count (CBC) and C-reactive protein (CRP) testing has become mainstream, while triple testing combining CBC, CRP, and serum amyloid A (SAA) is emerging as a new trend in combined diagnostics.
Dymind is a domestic innovator in combined hematology testing products, ranking second among Chinese brands in China's blood analysis market, with its products and services covering 120 countries and regions worldwide. With a portfolio of innovative products, including 5-part differential + CRP fully automated hematology analyzers, 3-part and 5-part differential fully automated hematology analyzers, and integrated systems for fully automated hematology and immunoassay analysis, the company has witnessed and led the inception and rapid development of combined testing products in China.
Recently, VCBeat conducted an exclusive interview with Liu Zhizhi, R&D Director of Dymind’s hematology product line.
Self-Developed 5-Part Differential + CRP Hematology Analyzer
Pioneering Domestic Multiplex Testing Innovators
Liu Zhizhi, R&D Director of Dymind’s hematology product line, told VCBeat that Dymind was founded in 2013 and quickly established an R&D team of more than 30 members. “At that time, hematology analyzers were relatively complex instruments with high technical barriers, so we regarded them as a competitive moat. When building the team, we rented office space near Tencent Building in Nanshan Science and Technology Park to attract more high-caliber talent to join the company.”
Leveraging a professional and efficient R&D team, Dymind successfully launched its first hematology analyzer to the market after more than a year. Although the performance of this product was comparable to that of imported counterparts, the company’s founding team recognized that “even with excellent performance, it would be difficult to break into the market and survive, let alone achieve growth, without an established brand or mature distribution channels. Therefore, we need to break through and identify new opportunities.”
“Many people have had the experience of receiving intravenous drips after catching a cold, which may lead to antibiotic overuse. Intravenous therapy is generally recommended only for bacterial infections; therefore, it is essential to first differentiate between bacterial and viral colds.”
Previously, differentiating between viral and bacterial colds required two instruments and two blood samples to complete a five-part differential complete blood count (CBC) and C-reactive protein (CRP) testing. Is it possible to perform combined CBC and CRP testing using just one instrument and a single blood sample? Addressing this need, Dymind began developing an integrated analyzer for five-part differential hematology and CRP joint testing.
Thanks to the efforts of its professional team, Dymind successfully launched in 2015China's First Integrated Analyzer for Five-Part Differential Blood Cell Count and CRP Testing with 3D Scatter Plots. This instrumentOnly a single blood draw is required to complete the testing of two indicators, with faster detection speed than imported products. The product’s launch created a sensation in the market. Through differentiated innovation, Dymind has carved out a market niche and established itself as a new brand.
Since then, the company has continued to exert its efforts, launching multiple world-first combined testing products, and has become the manufacturer with the most comprehensive range of combined testing product models in China.
Liu Zhizhi introduced that Dymind holds a presence in the hematology joint testing market, withWide product range, rapid testing, low blood volume requirement, and easy operationFour Major Advantages.
Hematology analyzers present high technical barriers and significant development challenges, whereas CRP testing products have relatively lower technical thresholds, resulting in a crowded field of manufacturers and a highly competitive “red ocean” market. Dymind has firmly leveraged its core competency in hematology analysis technology, while continuously identifying differentiated innovation opportunities by addressing customer pain points, thereby securing a leading position in the integrated hematology-CRP testing segment. Dymind’s integrated hematology-CRP testing products have achieved widespread adoption, ranging from primary care hospitals to top-tier (Grade 3A) hospitals.
Dymind's DH76CRP, a fully automated capillary blood sampling integrated analyzer for five-part differential counting and CRP combined testing, canAchieve Fully Automated Testing of Capillary Blood Samples, no manual mixing is required after sampling, throughIntelligent Mixing System, automatically mixes micro-volume blood samples and fully automates the testing and analysis. This product is highly suitable for outpatient and emergency departments in secondary and tertiary hospitals, as well as specialized maternal and child health and pediatric hospitals.
Amid the widespread prevalence of viruses, the triple test comprising complete blood count (CBC), C-reactive protein (CRP), and serum amyloid A (SAA) has emerged as a new trend in managing influenza viral and bacterial infections. The DM79X Fully Automated Hematology and Immunoassay Analyzer is Dymind’s triple-test solution, first launched in 2020.A single blood sample and one instrument can perform tests for complete blood count (CBC), C-reactive protein (CRP), and serum amyloid A (SAA).As an indicator that is exceptionally sensitive to early viral infections, particularly early SARS-CoV-2 infection, SAA holds significant clinical value for the initial screening of viral infections with the DM79X.
Strong Demand for Combined In Vitro Diagnostic Testing
The company is expanding into more areas, such as coagulation.
Additionally, Dymind has strategically focused its product portfolio in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis. Coagulation function analysis is widely used in clinical practice; however, nearly 80% of China’s coagulation analysis market has long been monopolized by international giants. In 2021, Dymind launchedFully Automated Optical-Magnetic Integrated Coagulation Analyzer: Unifying Dual Methodologies, a perfect blend of cost-effectiveness.
In the POCT sector, Dymind has launchedSingle-Test POCT Instrument for Combined CBC, CRP, and SAA Assays.“Although there is a vast number of primary healthcare institutions, it has long been difficult to imagine the deployment of POCT combined hematology testing products at this level. However, Dymind has successfully overcome this challenge, bringing its combined hematology testing products into village clinics.”
Furthermore, in the veterinary medical market, Dymind has deployed three-part differential automated veterinary hematology analyzers, five-part differential automated veterinary hematology analyzers, and integrated systems for combined hematology and immunoassay testing.
Next, Dymind will remain customer-centric, uphold the spirit of innovation, deeply explore customer needs, continuously innovate, and strive to becomeA Global Leader in Combined Diagnostic Products and Services.
